About the job

At European Stonecraft you get a versatile controller role in an international group, where you combine operational accounting work with controlling and follow-up. Here you have the opportunity to apply your professional expertise, take responsibility for tasks and contribute with engagement, initiative and development in the finance function.

European Stonecraft

European Stonecraft is the parent company of an international stonemasonry group with its own production and more than 80 stores. The group includes, among others, Danske Stenhuggerier and Gudnason Natursten, which are market leaders in the sale of gravestones and accessories in Denmark, as well as Naturstein Nord in northern Germany. In addition, the group includes, among others, Storm Sørensens Broncestøberi and Raadvad Stenhuggeri, which work with restoration of historic buildings, statues and monuments.

From the finance department in Nørre Snede, the group's companies and their activities in Denmark and Germany are supported. The company has grown, and today the focus is on creating more structure in the finance function as well as making the workflows more efficient and automated.

A diverse daily life with accounting and controlling

As a controller you will become part of the finance department, reporting to the Head of Accounting. The main emphasis of the role lies on day-to-day accounting work, which you combine with financial controlling, follow-up and quality assurance. You will have your own areas of responsibility and work independently, while becoming a professional sparring partner for the Head of Accounting in daily operations.

Your tasks include, among other things, accounts payable and financial bookkeeping, accounts receivable follow-up, reconciliations, VAT, as well as monthly and year-end closings. You will also contribute to period reporting, consolidation, the budgeting process and preparing material for the auditor. It is therefore important that you find value in both solving the ongoing accounting tasks and delving into the numbers so that the accounting basis is correct and thoroughly developed.

Since you work in a group with cross-border activities, the role also includes VAT tasks relating to both Danish and foreign matters. As the finance function develops, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to improving and structuring workflows and reducing manual processes.

Solid understanding of accounting, independence and drive

You have experience with both accounting and financial controlling and can independently take responsibility for your tasks and see them through. In addition, you work in a structured and thorough manner and thrive in a daily life that includes both fixed routines and tasks that require you to examine connections and find solutions.

It is important that you have experience with the accounts payable area, VAT, month-end closing, reconciliations and provisions and can contribute to ensuring correct accounting data. You also have experience with period reporting and budget processes and are a power user in Excel.

Experience with Navision, Business Central and Jet Reports is an advantage, just as international experience can be relevant in the role. You must be able to communicate in writing in English, and if you know German, that is a plus but not a requirement.

As a person you are engaged, responsible, curious and ready to take on tasks. You work structured and thoroughly and have both the desire and ability to understand new problems. At the same time you are a team player who contributes to the community and helps out when needed. You meet colleagues with an open and respectful approach and thrive in a role where everyone's contribution to the overall task solving is important.

A down-to-earth workplace with presence and integrity

At European Stonecraft you become part of an informal and down-to-earth workplace where people help each other and value good collegiality. Day-to-day work takes place primarily at the office in Nørre Snede, where colleagues use each other's expertise in daily work. There is room to ask questions and learn along the way, and you meet with clarity, trust and an expectation of open dialogue.
