The Laboratory Unit, Pathology is looking for bioanalysts for a permanent position and some temporary positions. The permanent position is in the histology section; the temporary positions are 6-8 months long and are in the histology and cytology sections respectively.

• Working hours: 37 hours per week
• Start date: The permanent position and the temporary positions are to be filled by December 1, 2026 or by agreement.
• Working hours: Monday–Thursday from 7:00 to 15:30. Friday from 7:00 to 15:00

A varied and exciting day-to-day

With us you will have a varied workday with both manual work and automated processes. We prioritize rotation between functions to gain broad experience.

The tasks in the histology section include among others

• Cutting, microtomy
• Biobank and sample reception
• Histochemical analyses
• Immunohistochemical analyses
• Digital pathology (scanning of glass slides)
• Work with advanced equipment, including a cutting robot (AS410)

The tasks in the cytology section include among others

• Sample reception and registration
• Preparation of cervical cytology samples
• Preparation of non-gyn samples

About the Laboratory Unit

The Laboratory Unit is an exciting department that includes the specialties Pathology as well as Blood Tests and Biochemistry. The department serves the clinical departments at Randers Regional Hospital and the region’s doctors and specialists.

The total staff is about 125 employees, with about 45 staff in Pathology and about 80 staff in Blood Tests and Biochemistry. Bioanalysts constitute by far the largest staff group, but there are also doctors, AC staff, nurses and secretaries.

Pathology handles about 30,000 histological specimens and about 90,000 cytological specimens annually. The cytological specimens mainly consist of screening samples from the cervical cancer screening program. The cervix cytology area was ISO-accredited in 2024.

Blood Tests and Biochemistry has a production of about 5 million analysis results per year with a broad range of analyses and in addition a number of specialized analyses within the gastroenterological area. In addition, the department has a blood bank function with donor tapping in Grenaa Health Center and Randers Health Center as well as in four satellites. Blood Tests and Biochemistry has been ISO accredited since 2006.
