Biomedical Laboratory Scientist sought for a newly established Fertility Unit at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Thisted

We are seeking a skilled, curious and dedicated bioanalyst for a shift-free part-time position.

At the Gynecology-Obstetrics Department in Thisted we have long dreamed of offering fertility treatment to citizens in the western part of the North Jutland Region. Now we are almost ready, but we need a skilled bioanalyst to perform semen analyses and semen preparation by Swim-Up.

Therefore, as of 1 December 2026 we are seeking a bioanalyst for the Gynecology-Obstetrics Department in Thisted. You will have a main role in Thisted, but you should expect that training and courses will take place at other sites.

The position is a shift-free part-time role of 25 hours per week, and is limited to one year. This is because we are in a start-up phase and want the possibility to modulate the Fertility Unit's activity with increasing demand.

About the job

You will be part of the team that will establish and perform fertility treatment in Thisted. You will primarily have a laboratory role, where you will perform semen analyses and semen preparation for use in insemination treatment. In addition, you will also handle tasks in the Fertility Clinic and the Gynecology Ambulatory.

In the long term your function will mainly be tied to the tasks in the laboratory, but in the start-up phase your tasks will be more varied.

About the Fertility Unit in Thisted

The Fertility Unit is part of the Gynecology-Obstetrics Department in Thisted. We are two doctors, a nurse and two midwives, who are very much looking forward -in collaboration with you- to be able to offer semen analysis and insemination treatment in Thisted.

The Fertility Unit is approved as a tissue center with permission to perform semen preparation by Swim-Up.

We are located in the Gynecological Ambulatory at Aalborg University Hospital, Thisted.

The practical

The position is available for occupancy on 1 December 2026 or by agreement. This is a fixed-term part-time position of 25 hours per week.

You report to Chief Physician Kristine Nielsen.

Interviews are expected to be held in week 44.
