Who are we?

Operation and Intensive is a large and well-functioning department with about 25 specialists and about 12 trainees. In total, we are a little over 300 employees.

We are a busy department where you often need to keep several balls in the air and navigate many diverse and cross-disciplinary contexts – whether it is in the operating theatre, the maternity ward, the trauma bay or in connection with the reception of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Our working environment is characterized by a flat structure, where we help each other in daily work and during shifts.

As a specialist you will be part of the on-call team and play an important role in supporting our doctors in training. We are proud to have won several awards for our educational efforts and we also received excellent remarks during our latest inspector visit.

About the position

You will provide anesthesia for the management of both elective and acute surgical procedures linked to a wide range of specialties. We have annually about 14,000 patients under general anesthesia and about 6,000 under regional anesthesia, with 11-16 anesthesia teams and operating rooms in operation daily. In our modernized Intensive Care Unit from 2024 we have a norm for 8 beds and about 800 admissions per year.

Our cutting-edge specialties are orthopedics, gynecology/obstetrics, urology, abdominal-, breast- and vascular surgery as well as regional dental care. In addition, anesthesia is provided for MRI under GA, ECT, DC-conversion and several ad hoc tasks. We have 3 on-call shifts daily. Furthermore, the Emergency Doctor Vehicle Viborg is fully integrated in the department.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement in the area.
