About us

At The Defence Day in Copenhagen you will be part of a dedicated team of 17 employees. We place great emphasis on a professional and socially strong working environment, where mutual sparring and collaboration are a natural part of everyday life.

The team consists of both civilian and military staff, and together we form the core of the joint defence environment at Recruitment Center Copenhagen. Although our physical base is on Strødamvej in Østerbro, our work has great significance for the entire Defence.

Each year we process around 70,000 young people, and in addition we participate in a number of recruitment activities – both military and civilian – across the country.

We function as an important link between the Defence and the upcoming generations of conscripts and take that task very seriously.

We work purposefully to support the Defence's mission: to safeguard the sovereignty of the Union and contribute to peace and stability – nationally and internationally.

About the position

Your work primarily consists of conducting health examinations and secondarily administrative tasks in the form of reviewing medical records and health information.

You will have a good mix between medical consultations with young people and more routine tasks.

You will become part of a unified medical group consisting of 35 doctors spread across five recruitment centers.

Our goal is to retain and further develop a future-proof and attractive workplace, with a focus on high professionalism to meet the Defence's need for new soldiers. We do this, among other things, by offering a position where an individual can plan a work rhythm that fits you and your family’s needs.

Working hours, by agreement, will be between 15-20 hours per week. By agreement with the center director there is an opportunity for flexible planning of the desired working days.

About you

We are looking for someone who desires a stable everyday life, more time for personal relationships or hobbies, or perhaps just wants a period in your medical career where the workload is reduced.

You are a specialist in general medicine or have another relevant specialty with broad clinical experience.

You are willing to be part of both a small team and to participate in the overall medical group for various meetings and department seminars.

You are comfortable with routine tasks sprinkled with a certain amount of unpredictability.

Terms of employment

The employment is governed by the then-current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Association of Specialist Physicians with the accompanying protocol on session physicians.

The base salary for a full-time position is 726,828.84 DKK per year. If hired part-time you receive pay proportional to the reduced working time.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is a possibility for negotiating additional allowances. The position includes an employer-financed pension scheme of 18.87%.

As an employee under the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to some special terms. You must, among other things, be security-cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment process.

As an employee you are obliged to perform service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations.
