About Børnehuset Stolpebo

At Stolpebo we are staffed for 45 children, distributed as 15 infants and 30 preschool children. Here you will lead a daycare center with a healthy work community and engaged pedagogical staff. We are a staff group with a wide range of competencies and a desire to practice meaningful pedagogy that makes a difference for the children. It matters a lot to us to work in a reflective work environment with high professional standards.

Stolpebo is a daycare center with positive expectations for all children, and which takes children's voices and will seriously. We work purposefully to bring out the best in the children, and we therefore have a special focus on creating safe frameworks as well as exciting and inviting learning environments that support all children's senses. We are committed to ensuring that children have the opportunity to explore and investigate the world around them. Therefore we give the children varied experiences that develop the children emotionally, physically, socially and cognitively.

Our preschool is not divided into rooms, but is a single common preschool that works in age-segregated groups during the week. Across the whole house we work in a structured daily routine through weekly plans, where we, among other things, actively work in smaller groups with reading play, school-preparatory work and play scripts, etc.

We are equipped with a cosy playground with play landscapes, big trees and cozy corners. In designing our learning environment we have placed great emphasis on the possibility of choosing for oneself, and therefore there is free access to creative materials, construction toys such as Lego, puzzles, books, play kitchen or games. In addition, we have access to a gym hall at the nearby school, which is used for motor skills, ball games, dance and much more movement.

It is important to us to work in an environment where close parental collaboration is highly valued. We believe that investing in parental collaboration from the start pays off in the long run. We are looking for a leader who will also contribute to and support a collaborative culture, where we all contribute to good solutions with the children’s well-being, learning, development and formation in focus. We have an active parent board that contributes to the community, for example by organizing activities for the families outside the daycare opening hours.

About the position

As a day-care center manager you will handle the daily management of Børnehuset Stolpebo and report directly to the head of the day-care administration, since Brøndby Municipality does not have area/cluster leadership, as there is a focus on maintaining a flat management structure within the municipality.

In your daily work you will create good frames and set the direction for the pedagogical practice and collaborate with children, staff, parents and other professionals in the municipality.

You will become part of Brøndy Municipality’s shared day-care area – including an engaged day-care leadership group and a leadership team with six leadership colleagues, where you discuss development and implementation of various initiatives, such as projects and education, as well as provide professional sparring to each other.

In your daily work you must ensure continued development of the quality of the pedagogical work. We expect you to be able to plan and facilitate development processes, set direction and create followership for the development of Stolpebo. You must set the direction for and support the pedagogical practice and continue the good work of translating the strengthened pedagogical curriculum from paper to practice. The role also includes child hours, so you can also perform the professional leadership as part of the pedagogical practice.

• Have a pedagogical education and a leadership qualification. If you do not have a leadership qualification, we expect that you are willing to pursue a diploma in leadership.
• Have experience leading day-care services and know the day-care sector.
• Master the balance between being development-oriented, asking thoughtful and open questions, setting direction, making decisions, but also making room for new ideas and practices that already work.
• Can create results through job satisfaction and engagement.
• Create structure and overview in the house in relation to roles, tasks and distribution of responsibilities in daily life.
• Can, through trust-based leadership, draw the outer framework with room for staff to put their own mark on daily life.
• Understand and thrive in working in a politically governed organization and be skilled at implementing and translating political decisions and, among other things, continue the work of translating the strengthened pedagogical curriculum into practice.
• Collaborate with and involve the parents at the right time and place and see them as a resource and an important partner.
• Master involving relevant interdisciplinary partners in task solving.
• Have strong professional expertise regarding children's development, and you also enjoy being on the floor, where you demonstrate a flair for professional sparring with staff.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is 37 hours. We would like you to start on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The day-care centers are organizationally placed in the Department of Children, Culture and Sports. Salary and terms of employment according to applicable collective agreement. In Brøndby Municipality there is a smoke-free working time policy.
