About the job

Business Consultant / Lift Guide for Ungekompasset

Are you focused on creating job and education opportunities for young people aged 18-29, and do you see strengths, skills and potential rather than barriers? Can you build relationships with companies, motivate young people and translate opportunities into concrete steps toward employment, education and increased independence?

We are seeking a business consultant / lift guide for our department, which develops and runs employment-oriented initiatives for residents in Ishøj Municipality.

In Ishøj Municipality, we work to ensure that more young people become part of the communities of the labor market and the education system. We believe that everyone has resources and potential, and that development happens through participation, responsibility and meaningful communities.

As a business consultant and lift guide you will have the opportunity to make a concrete difference for young residents by helping them get closer to jobs, education and a lasting connection to the labor market.

A bit about the job and your tasks

The position comprises two roles

Business consultant, where you create company-oriented opportunities for young people and support their path toward employment, paid hours and education.

Lift guide, where you follow a number of young people in individual trajectories and at the same time participate in the operation of Ungekompasset through teaching, workshops and group programs.

In your role as a business consultant and lift guide you work with the Løft method and support the young people in recognizing their own resources, possibilities and next steps toward work or education. You see potentials rather than limitations and believe that most young people can develop through participation in work communities, education and other meaningful communities. Therefore you focus on creating concrete company-oriented solutions and support the individual young person in translating their strengths into realistic job- or education-related goals.

You will become part of a development-oriented department consisting of business consultants, teachers, lift guides and implementation staff. We work in a solution-focused way, have a strong professional community and share responsibility for creating results for citizens. Professional sparring is a regular part of our everyday life and is given high importance in the development of our initiatives.

Your primary tasks will be to

  • Reach out to, establish and maintain collaborations with companies
  • Create pathways to paid hours, ordinary jobs, apprenticeships and educational opportunities for young residents
  • Match young people with concrete job and education opportunities based on their resources, interests and strengths
  • Plan and conduct teaching and workshops focusing on work, education, workplace culture, job searching and competence clarification
  • Facilitate group activities aimed at identifying and developing the young people’s abilities, competencies and strengths
  • Hold individual motivating conversations focusing on progression towards work and education
  • Document your work in our professional systems
  • Contribute to professional sparring and the development of the department’s initiatives

Qualifications

To hold the role of business consultant / lift guide you are expected to

  • Have experience with young people and can motivate them to take responsibility for their own development
  • Be strong in relationship work and can build trust and engagement with both young people and companies
  • Have experience with company contact and job placement or a proven ability to build relationships with companies
  • See resources and potentials in people and are motivated to create development through work and education
  • Believe that work makes a difference and are motivated to help young people closer to paid hours, regular employment, education and the communities of the labor market
  • Have knowledge of the labor market and educational opportunities and can translate this knowledge into concrete opportunities for the individual young person
  • Can facilitate learning processes and create engagement in teaching, workshops and group programs
  • Are structured and independent and can plan and carry out programs with a focus on progression
  • Have experience in guiding and can support the young person in setting goals, taking initiative and maintaining motivation
  • Are flexible and solution-oriented and can adapt your approach to different young people’s prerequisites and needs
  • Have strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Are familiar with the LØFT method or are eager to work from a solution-focused approach

There are two positions – both are normed to 21-32 hours per week with fixed meeting days, and start is expected by December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. Pay is according to the applicable collective agreement.

You will report to the Head of Job and Clarification and you will have close collaboration with the department’s other staff.

Application deadline: The application deadline is Friday, November 9 at 12:00. Applications are submitted via Ishøj Municipality’s Recruitment Platform, HR-Skyen.
