About the job
Would you use your engineering experience to influence the development of Copenhagen of the future? And are you motivated to be on the client side in large and complex construction and infrastructure projects?
Then you may be one of our upcoming colleagues in the Construction Department.
For our civil works and infrastructure projects in Copenhagen we are seeking experienced project managers who can take responsibility for planning, management and delivery. You will have the opportunity to work with projects that help create the framework for new districts and a coherent city.
About the job
As a project manager you will be part of By & Havn's Construction Department. We manage projects in flood protection, onshore power and port projects as well as the establishment of the overall infrastructure in our development areas. This includes, among other things, roads, utilities, canals, bridges, public spaces, green areas and parking houses. The projects are carried out in close collaboration with, among others, advisers, contractors, utility companies and authorities.
You will become part of a committed and competent professional environment, where we collaborate to find solutions to complex challenges. Here you will be responsible for your own projects and become a central driving force in ensuring that the projects are planned and carried out safely and purposefully with a focus on time, economy and quality. The role gives you good opportunities to bring your professional knowledge, judgement and experience into play as well as influence the projects' solutions and progress.
Your main tasks will be
- Manage civil works and infrastructure projects from the initial phases to design, execution and handover.
- Hold the client role and ensure progress, quality, economy and adherence to timelines.
- Plan, manage and follow up on design and execution.
- Coordinate collaboration with advisers, contractors, utility companies, authorities and other stakeholders.
- Ensure a constructive and solution-oriented collaboration across disciplines and organisations.
- Handle contractual, financial and technical aspects of the projects.
- Follow up on project finances and prepare financial forecasts in collaboration with the department's project coordinators.
- Contribute to risk management, decision briefs and reporting in connection with the projects.
- Contribute to the development of By & Havn's Construction Department's working processes, methods and professional environment.
About you
You are educated as a structural engineer and have about 5-10 years of experience with project management within civil works, construction, infrastructure or a related area. Your experience may be gained from a public or private client, an engineering consultancy or a contractor.
You are familiar with the different phases of a project and are used to taking independent responsibility for driving complex projects forward. You work in a structured way, have a good overview of finances and are able to maintain direction and decisiveness, even when there are many stakeholders and considerations at play.
In addition, we would like you to
- Have experience with negotiation and collaboration with advisers, contractors and authorities.
- Thrive in an organisation with many contact points, where projects attract a lot of public and political attention.
- Can identify risks and translate problems into concrete decisions and solutions.
- Work independently and take responsibility for the projects' progress and results.
- Are clear and trust-building in your communication and can build good relationships.
- Can stand firm on the project's goals and framework, while being open to professional dialogue and different perspectives.
- Communicate in Danish, both written and spoken.
