About the job

Roskilde Katedralskole has vacancies in the subjects music, mathematics and social studies with start 1/1-2027 or earlier if possible. Both applicants with and without pedagogical qualification have interest, as well as other subjects in combination with the above subjects can come into play. For the right candidates there may be permanent positions.

Join in lifting the music life at RKS

We are seeking a colleague who will help shape the future of the music subject and further develop the music environment we have at the school.

At Roskilde Cathedral School, music fills a lot. We have, in close collaboration with MGK Køge and the local music school in Roskilde for several years, offered a talent program for particularly talented music students. In addition, we are incredibly proud of our annual musical, which is one of the year’s biggest events, and which our talented students themselves help create and produce. Our collaboration with Roskilde Festival is also something we are proud of. And the whole school obviously sings together when we have morning assembly.

As a new music teacher at RKS you will this year be teaching a 2.g Music A class, but you must also be ready to take on the many other tasks involved in strengthening and developing the music life at RKS. Therefore it is not only important that you are academically strong. You must also be a good coordinator and collaborator when, e.g., concerts are to be held or other joint arrangements are made that can strengthen the musical life. Maybe it is you who establishes a school choir, or maybe you come with your own new ideas?

A strong social studies group

In social studies you will be part of a large, well-functioning and professionally strong subject group, where emphasis is placed on close collaboration, sparring and joint development of teaching sequences. The size of the subject group is largely a strength here with us, and as our new colleague you will always be able to get good help and sparring from colleagues. As our new social studies teacher you will teach both 1.g and 3.g A-level and 1.g c-level.

Sparring, development and strong results in mathematics

As a mathematics teacher at Roskilde Cathedral School you will meet a large and well-functioning subject group. The subject group consists of both younger and more experienced staff, which provides good opportunities for professional sparring and development. It is a cooperative subject group that continuously works to ensure students leave here with the best possible results. We have had great success with a special push for academic lifting, a push that can be seen in our results, and which we are very proud of. As a mathematics teacher with us, you must be ready to teach both at A and B level.

About Roskilde Cathedral School

Roskilde Cathedral School is a school that builds on possibilities, meaning and shared responsibility. A school that is for both the students and for society. A school that constantly develops in the effort to be the best version of a general gymnasium. The school's students, employees and leadership together create the high quality and the good learning environment in daily life, which the school is known for. We are the daily workplace for about 1300 students and about 130 employees, and we take pride in that it should be nice to be here and room for everyone.

Who are you, and what do we offer?

We are looking for you who are passionate about your subjects and about working with young people. You thrive in an environment with high academic and pedagogical ambitions, where we take care and spar closely with each other.

In return we offer a well-functioning workplace with a strong collegial community, a leadership that takes care of the individual, good development opportunities and an active staff life with, among other things, a gym, lunch arrangement and a good staff association.
