At Fortegaarden we are looking for an independent and versatile janitor/concierge who has hands-on skills, thrives with practical tasks and also has experience with light electronics, IT hardware and digital solutions.

We are not looking for an IT specialist who will sit behind a screen. We are looking for a practitioner who can roll up their sleeves, solve everyday challenges and at the same time contribute to developing and modernizing our technical operations.

About Fortegaarden

Fortegaarden is a self-governing foundation located in Risskov. We house a large senior community with more than 250 housing units as well as private nursing home, cafe, cultural centre and community facilities.

Our core task is to create a meaningful and attractive senior community , and that requires well-functioning buildings, good outdoor areas and staff who take responsibility for both small and large tasks.

As a janitor you will become part of our property team, where we help each other, but also expect that the individual can plan and solve tasks independently.

Your duties

You will have a diverse everyday work where tasks range from traditional janitor tasks to lighter electronic repairs and technical troubleshooting.

Practical maintenance and property operation

• Carry out common repairs and maintenance in residences, common areas and buildings.
• Maintain doors, locks, fittings, furniture and other building components.
• Carry out smaller painting, assembly and handyman tasks.
• Contribute to the maintenance of green areas, pavements and outdoor facilities.
• Participate in seasonal tasks such as snow clearing and anti-slip measures.
• Ensure good and welcoming service for residents, staff and guests.

Electronics, IT and technical equipment

Our new janitor will serve as Fortegaarden's IT manager, and experience in this area is therefore a prerequisite for filling the position.

Examples of tasks include

• Troubleshooting and minor repairs on electronic and technical equipment.
• Ordering, setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of screens, sound systems, AV equipment, phones, iPads and other electronic devices.
• Handling of lighter IT hardware, network equipment and connection of technical devices.
• Carry out smaller electrical tasks within the applicable rules and collaborate with authorized electricians.

Digitisation and development

• Assist in introducing and using digital systems for task management and maintenance.
• Contribute ideas for smarter workflows and technical solutions.
• Support more systematic and efficient operation of our buildings.
• Participate in developing technical solutions that make everyday life easier for both residents and staff.

Who are you?

We imagine you have a craftsman-like or technical background.

Your educational title is not decisive. The most important thing is that you are a skilled practitioner with the right experience and approach to the tasks.

We require that you

• Have practical experience with common repairs, maintenance and use of hand tools.
• Have concrete experience with IT hardware, light electronics, including installation, troubleshooting or repair of electronic equipment and components.
• Have technical curiosity and can see opportunities in new solutions.
• Can work independently, prioritise your tasks and see them through to the end.
• Are solution-oriented and eager to tackle both small and large practical tasks.
• Are prepared to participate in all property team's tasks, including outdoor maintenance and green areas.
• Have B driving license and preferably experience with sweeper machines, garden tractors etc.

We also place emphasis on you being a do-it-yourself type who investigates and tries to solve a task before calling an external craftsman, and that you thrive with a day-to-day where planned tasks can be interrupted by urgent needs.

Practical information

Are you our new colleague?
