About the job

CApE is seeking two students from January 1, 2027. The employment will be under the HK agreement, and the weekly hours are 10 and 15 hours respectively, but may vary depending on holidays and events in the center.

About CApE

CApE is a research center at the Faculty of Humanities, KU, that focuses on applied green, humanities research with a focus on eco-crises and transformations within culture, society and local practices. CApE is housed at Læderstræde 20 in the inner city together with organizations such as CONCITO, Tænketanken HAV, Arkaia, and others. You will therefore be in an environment with other organizations that are central players in the field.

CApE creates new knowledge within the field and runs activities both for a broader public – e.g., debate events, talks, student events or research workshops – and internally with researchers and their practice partners. The daily life at CApE is thus very varied: some days the office is characterized by researchers deeply engaged in individual work, and other days we prepare larger meetings or a big event. CApE is a smaller workplace where you as a student get to support and contribute to many processes and decisions. We prioritize a good working environment and a strong sense of collegiality.

Student to support center coordination

You will primarily report to and support the center leader Stefan Gaarsmand Jacobsen, i.e., you will take on tasks related to the center leadership's administrative work. The day-to-day will be characterized by many varied tasks requiring good collaboration skills and commitment. The weekly working time is on average 10 hours per week.

Your tasks will include, among others

  • Support for communication between center leadership and partners. For example, inviting to meetings in the calendar, following up on external inquiries and ongoing collaborations via email, writing minutes of house meetings, booking rooms, etc.
  • Practical support to optimize work processes. For example, ordering and picking up materials, preparing meeting rooms, organizing documents, etc.
  • Support for development of the center’s activities in collaboration with the center’s program/event officers, communications officer and CApE’s other student(s). This includes assisting with coordination, planning and administrative tasks.
  • Active participation in coordination meetings and development workshops, including minutes of meetings, CApE internally and ad hoc with external parties.

Student to support the events program

You will primarily report to and support research officer Andrea Thorup, where you will particularly handle tasks related to the center’s events program. The weekly working time is on average 15 hours per week.

Your tasks will include

  • Assist CApE’s administration and researchers with tasks related to events and communication, including editing Danish and English texts.
  • Announce events on the website and social media – including creating graphics for events in Canva. Develop, collect, write and set up newsletters and coordinate with center leadership and the communications department.
  • Support in planning and organizing events with the officer and the event coordinator. Event execution assistance before, during and after an event, including the preparation of run sheets before events and coordination with event helpers.
  • Support booking of travel and accommodation for CApE guest researchers. Including support for KU’s train travel rules and booking train journeys.
  • Active participation in coordination meetings and development workshops, including minutes of meetings, CApE internally and ad hoc with external parties.
  • Practical tasks in the office such as printing and posting posters, as well as book purchases.

For both positions, we expect the following from you

  • You have experience in providing support for administrative tasks
  • You have a good overview of the use of Outlook, the Office suite, etc., and a willingness to learn more through the work in the center.
  • You are proficient in written and spoken English and Danish and have experience with support for internal communication.
  • You have good ability to contribute to tasks, are responsible, and are good at juggling multiple tasks.

We would like you to find green humanities research interesting, as all our work centers on the center’s academic area.

Employment terms

The employment is governed by the rules in the Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and Public Employees Organizations - The Civil Service Area (OAO-S joint agreement) and the Organization Agreement for Office Clerks, Laboratory Assistants and IT Employees (HK).

You will be paid as a student with an hourly wage of DKK 145.73 (current level).

The appointment is temporary, starting on January 1, 2027.

It is a strict requirement for the employment that you are enrolled and an active student in a higher education program.

Submit your CV, application, proof of enrollment and transcript.

If you are interested and have questions about the advertisement, you are welcome to contact Andrea Thorup at [email protected] or 93 56 36 33.

The application deadline is October 28, 2026.

We look forward to hearing from you!
