Become Center Director, where professionalism and development go hand in hand with everyday life

After five years as center director, our skilled leader has decided to step down, and therefore we are looking for you: an experienced and present leader who wants to take over and continue the good work with us.

Who are we?

The Social Pedagogical Center East is a residential facility with 57 places distributed over four departments: three in Faxe town (Rådhusvej 61-65, Hertelsvej 18-60 and Rådhusvej 67) and one in Førslev (Førslev Bygade).

The citizens live in their own homes and have the opportunity for community and support close to everyday life. They have different challenges. Some have reduced physical or mental functioning, others a combination. We start from the individual: what does the citizen want, what does the citizen need, and how can we together create the framework for a meaningful life?

We are about 110 permanent employees and 40 permanent substitutes from many different professions: social educators, pedagogical assistants, nurses, social and health care assistants and helpers, occupational therapists, schoolteachers as well as care and pedagogy helpers. We work best when we use each other’s strengths, and it is often in the meeting between professions that the best solutions arise.

What you will do

As center director you are responsible for both daily life and direction. Among other things, you will:

• be the leader for the staff and take care of well-being, with a focus on presence and sickness absence and cross-department collaboration, e.g. through the TRIO collaboration
• keep track of daily operations and finances, so we use resources wisely
• bring health-care and social-pedagogical perspectives to work together in the work with the citizens, e.g. through monthly sparring meetings between management and coordinators.
• support citizens' development and well-being through goals and sub-goals
• secure the center's long-term development by developing a clear core task to which all employees feel connected

You are not alone in the task: You will have a daily manager (deputy) and a team leader by your side as well as skilled and experienced leadership colleagues in Disability and Psychiatry, who provide sparring and develop together with you. In addition, the center's various coordinators will become important sparring partners in daily life.

At our place, professionalism is something we do together. We take time to talk about what we do, and why, and pedagogues, nurses and therapists learn from each other’s view of the same citizen. As center director you set the direction for the social-pedagogical development. You do not have to have all the answers yourself, but you ask the good questions and let knowledge flow.

You have experience with leadership in the residential care sector and enjoy being at the heart of the tension between people, professionalism, operations and finances. You lead in an appreciative and clear way, are present and accessible, and you dare to take responsibility when difficult decisions must be made. You like being close to operations, but you can also lift your gaze toward future challenges.

In addition, we imagine that you have

• solid leadership experience, preferably from the residential care sector
• a social-pedagogical background
• experience with operations, finances, personnel management and quality development, and the ability to use data and knowledge in practice
• leadership qualification at diploma level or higher. If you do not have it yet, it is perfectly fine if you are willing to start within at most 2 years after your employment.

In return you get

• Salary according to qualifications between 55,000 and 60,000 DKK per month plus pension
• Permanent position of 37 hours per week according to the collective agreement. There is no upper limit to working hours, but you have great freedom to arrange your own time.
