Chief Physician in Internal Medicine: Endocrinology with responsibility for the quality area at the Medical Diagnostic Center, Hospital Unit Midt

A position as chief physician in internal medicine: endocrinology at the Midt Hospital Unit, Medical Diagnostic Center is available for filling as of January 1, 2027 or by agreement. The position is a full-time position of 37 hours per week with the main place of service in Silkeborg.

About the position

You will be employed in the Medical Diagnostic Center with a function in the endocrinology area.

The main place of service will be Silkeborg, but as a starting point there will be functions in both Silkeborg and Viborg. Ward rounds and the acute function are in Viborg as well as clinics in Silkeborg or by agreement.

You will join the department's endocrinology team and together with the other endocrinology specialists be responsible for the operation and development of the endocrinology functions.

Depending on your experience and qualifications you will, in addition to the clinical and possibly research-related tasks, take part in tasks of medical professional and strategic/organizational character at the department.

It is expected that you participate in duty in the Emergency Department from 08:00-21:00 (weekdays) and 08:00-19:00 (weekends). On weekends you also participate in ward rounds primarily in Medical Ward M1 from 08:30-16:00. The functions are divided among the department's specialists.

Furthermore, in this position you will be quality manager and UTH (upper medical leader) responsible chief physician.

It is expected that you, similar to other specialists in the department, will complete the supervisor training.

The position can be sought by specialists in internal medicine: endocrinology. Experience with quality work, handling of near-miss incidents, gestational diabetes, introduction of new interdisciplinary workflows and completed leadership training are valued.

About the endocrinology function

Endocrinology is in rapid development – do you want to be part of it?

We are in the midst of an exciting development, where we are in full swing to implement needs-based treatment with a focus on stepped care in close collaboration with Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus. Together we are developing the software INDBLIK, which will support data-driven and individualized treatment.

We also provide treatment of gestational diabetes on a trial basis.
