Clinical Assistant Wanted for Parker Institute and Osteoarthritis Outpatient Clinic at Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital

We are seeking a clinical assistant from 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter to fulfil the role at the Parker Institute/Artrose Ambulatorium.

Qualifications

You must be a physician and have an interest in research and development. In addition, the assessment will place weight on

• interest in the locomotor system, including clinical examination
• willingness and ability to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration
• engagement and high professional competence
• preferably an interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound
• willingness to contribute to a good social community in the department

Parker Institute is a department under Bispebjerg Frederiksberg Hospital and reports to the management of this hospital. The institute is a clinical research institute with a specialty in rheumatic diseases. It is a multidisciplinary workplace that researches many different aspects of diseases of the locomotor system, and the staff covers a wide range of competencies, including clinical, biostatistical, and laboratory-based. Thus both basic and clinical research projects are conducted.

Attached to the Institute is the Artrose Ambulatorium, where patients are partly diagnosed and treated in clinical projects, partly a routine function for the hospital within the treatment of patients with osteoarthritis. It involves evidence-based treatment, including counseling, diet treatment of overweight individuals with knee osteoarthritis, and ultrasound-guided joint treatments. Finally, the ambulatorium has therapists attached to the program: Non-operative treatment of knee osteoarthritis (NOK).

The current position

In collaboration with the other doctors, you will participate in the daily clinical work in Artrose Ambulatorium, currently with testing of weight loss medication, GLP-1 RA for individuals with comorbidity knee osteoarthritis and overweight, and other projects with treatment of knee and hand osteoarthritis. There will be an opportunity for training in ultrasound diagnostics, which are part of the Artrose Ambulatorium's activities.

Simultaneously you shall participate in the Institute's research planning, initially aiming at developing scientific protocols within the relevant projects. The ultimate goal of the appointment will be to develop a PhD study within this framework.

Working hours are 37 hours per week, weekdays from 8:00-15:24. There is no on-call attached to the position.
