About the job

Would you like to help make complex rules easy to understand? Are you interested in a job with meaningful tasks that contribute to the green transition?

Then you may be our new communications consultant. We are looking for a new colleague who can strengthen our external and internal communication and support our development and work on producer responsibility through razor-sharp messages.

About DPA

DPA is a self-governing nonprofit organization that administers the national register for producer responsibility under the Environmental Protection Act. We are a central cog in a greener production, and we collect, process and disseminate data about producer responsibility in Denmark and support the circular economy through knowledge, documentation and guidance.

The communications function is an important part of our work. We develop and maintain content that makes complex rules and processes understandable for different audiences – from producers to public authorities.

Your tasks

You will play a central role in planning, coordinating and carrying out DPA’s communication efforts, both internally and externally.

You will develop and execute communication plans for projects, releases, campaigns and other initiatives across the organisation. This could include communication about the packaging regulation, new requirements for producers or internal change projects.

Your tasks will among other things be to

  • Drive the communications work from planning to execution in connection with projects, campaigns, releases and other initiatives.
  • Translate complex professional content, rules and processes into easy-to-understand and relevant communication for producers, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain content on DPA’s website so that information about producer responsibility and applicable rules is easy to find and understand.
  • Be involved in developing and strengthening internal communication and support the management with change communication.
  • Facilitate communication processes and cross-organisational collaboration and ensure progress in communication tasks.

About you

We imagine that you have a relevant communications education, e.g., cand.comm, journalist or similar. In addition, you have at least five years of experience from a similar position, preferably from a government agency, a municipality or another politically led organization.

In addition we emphasise that you

  • Have a keen sense of tact

You have a good sense for people, relationships and situations. You know when to bring your professional expertise into play, when to listen, and how to navigate safely between different interests and perspectives, also internally in the organisation.

  • Create momentum and take initiative

You do not wait to be asked. You seize opportunities, take responsibility and drive tasks and processes forward. At the same time you are good at gaining support and getting others on board.

  • Make things happen

You work efficiently and translate ideas into concrete results. You prioritise sharply, maintain momentum and deliver high quality, even when deadlines are tight.

  • Are robust and adaptable

You thrive in a day-to-day where tasks, priorities and stakeholders continually change. You maintain perspective, keep a cool head and adapt to new needs without losing focus.

What we offer

You will play a central role in the development of our communications portfolio and have the opportunity to shape our communication efforts in an area of great societal importance. You will become part of a professionally strong environment characterised by integrity, openness and collaboration.

We offer a workplace where

  • Trust and professionalism go hand in hand.
  • You get responsibility and influence from day one.
  • Professional sparring and development are a natural part of daily life.
  • We work purposefully to support circular economy and responsible resource standards in Denmark.

About Danish Producer Responsibility

DPA is a self-governing nonprofit organization established to handle the public-law tasks associated with producer responsibility of producers and importers under the Environmental Protection Act. The Ministry of the Environment has delegated a number of tasks to DPA, including general guidance on the producer responsibility rules and authority to make decisions in designated areas.

DPA collects and processes data about the administration of producer responsibility in Denmark, including data on which companies have registered producer responsibility, how much (and what share) of waste is collected, and thus also the companies' ability to support the path toward a sustainable and circular resource economy through the principles of extended producer responsibility, where producers pay for the waste they put on the market.

We work closely with the Ministry, the Environmental Protection Agency and other industry stakeholders, including collective schemes, in implementing producer responsibility rules in practice. We develop and operate the IT systems from which we receive and process data about the administration of producer responsibility.
