About the job

Do you want to help ensure that our upcoming transportation officers, prison officers, security officers and foremen receive the best possible start and training with us? Do you have a knack for guidance, follow-up and coordination of apprentice programs, and can you see connections across them? Then you now have the opportunity to become part of the Recruitment and Onboarding Unit in Denmark’s Prisons, with a particular focus on training uniformed trainees.

In the Recruitment and Onboarding Unit we work with recruitment, education and onboarding of uniformed employees to all of Denmark’s prisons.

We plan and participate in events at fairs, markets and much more, all over Denmark. We convey knowledge about Denmark’s Prisons and our training programs to applicants and citizens. In our presentation truck we use VR and human presence. In daily work we guide, screen, test and interview applicants to ensure that we recruit and train the best-suited transport officers, security officers, prison officers and foremen.

And we ensure that our trainees receive the best possible introduction, training plan, support, sparring and follow-up as well as coherence and progression in their training programs, so they can contribute to security in prisons and remand centers and the safety of all citizens of the country.

What we offer

With us you will become part of a team with a high degree of influence and participation. You will have your own areas of responsibility, so you can shape and plan your tasks yourself. You will have the opportunity to develop professionally and personally, and you will have a unique opportunity to work with tasks that receive a lot of attention and have great importance for our organization and society as a whole.

In addition, you will become part of

An efficient and engaged team, which at the same time prioritizes secure operations, knowledge sharing and a good atmosphere. A workplace that values well-being, development and balance, in a daily life that alternates between administrative tasks at our school in Birkerød and guidance and assessment interviews with trainees in our prisons and remand centers on Zealand and Falster, and the possibility for deepening at your home workplace.

Your primary areas of responsibility

As a trainee consultant you will, together with your colleagues in Birkerød and Møgelkær, be responsible for coordinating and following our uniformed trainees’ training programs. You will have close contact and follow-up with both trainees, internship supervisors and the management at the local prisons and remand centers and must, therefore, expect field-based tasks about 2-3 days a week.

You will take on a central role in the training of our uniformed colleagues. Your tasks will include, among other things, the following:

  • Be responsible for the training programs and training plans for prison officers, transport officers and foremen, including planning, coordination and ongoing follow-up in collaboration with internship supervisors, training managers and our nationwide schools.
  • Have close collaboration with and be a sparring partner for the training managers and unit managers in our prisons and remand centers regarding the trainees’ education, progression and any challenges in the training program.
  • Collaborate closely with internship supervisors, including providing sparring and following up on the trainees’ academic status, learning objectives and development points.
  • Conduct guidance, status and assessment interviews with trainees and contribute to ensuring coherence and progression throughout their entire training program.
  • Follow up on the trainees’ wellbeing, sick leave and other conditions that may affect the training program, and in collaboration with the relevant parties contribute to handling challenges and conflicts.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to trainee administration and ensure relevant documentation and follow-up on the trainees’ education programs.

Depending on your profile you will also be able to take on tasks with preparing notes, minor analyses, etc. for the management in the Office for Education and Competence Development. To a lesser extent you may also be involved in the unit’s recruitment tasks, e.g. screening applications and participation in fairs, markets and other outward-facing activities.

About you

  • You have a relevant education and preferably a uniformed background as well as good knowledge of Denmark’s Prisons and our work. You can also have relevant experience with trainee and education processes from a civilian position such as educator, teacher, academic or similar.
  • Your talent for collaboration, support and communication means you can quickly establish a good and respectful collaboration with colleagues, trainees, internship supervisors, training managers, our schools and the management in our prisons and remand centers.
  • You work in a structured way, can keep an overview of several simultaneous trainee programs and follow up on tasks and agreements to completion.
  • You have good oral and written communication skills and are flexible regarding working hours and tasks, within a 37-hour work week.

Salary and employment conditions

Employment is in accordance with the relevant applicable collective agreement, depending on your educational background.

If you are a uniformed civil servant, the employment is under the Civil Service Act. Salary placement then occurs in accordance with the salary agreement between Denmark’s Prisons and the Prison Officers’ Association in Denmark and the principles of New Pay with placement in salary grade 5.
