Cook or similar for Børnehuset Bryggens Bastion (maternity leave cover)

The position is 30 hours per week. You will have influence on where your hours fall – we envision that they will typically be in the time window 08:00-14:00.

The food is prepared in our industrial kitchen. Bryggens Bastion is located at Islands Brygge 35 on Amager, and consists of two nursery groups with 13 children each and three to four staff as well as a kindergarten group with 22 children and four staff. In Spring 2027 we will add yet another kindergarten group of almost 22 children.

Your task in the kitchen will be to produce and prepare an afternoon snack, lunch, and an afternoon meal for Bryggens Bastions 26 nursery children and up to 45 kindergarten children + an educational meal for the educational staff.

At Bryggens Bastion we have a goal that the food is healthy, appealing and nourishing. For us, this means that we predominantly buy organic ingredients, and that as much of the food as possible is made from scratch. For example, hummus tastes better when made ourselves, and it is also cheaper and healthier.

In our kitchen you will therefore get a combination of good working hours and exciting tasks. This especially calls for you to be passionate about cooking, organizing, purchasing seasonal produce, and preparing food for the following day. The job is for you if you thrive in a kitchen that is not too large, and where the children will love that you sometimes come out and present your delicious food.

A typical menu plan in Bastion can look like this

• Tuesday : Morning: Crispbread - Lunch: Vegetarian dish, e.g. lentil bolognese, chickpea curry, falafel - Afternoon: Home-baked rolls with fruit
• Wednesday : Morning: Crispbread - Lunch: Chicken in curry with rice and vegetables - Afternoon: Bread with fruit
• Thursday : Morning: Crispbread - Lunch: Cod (or another fish) + bulgur with vegetables - Afternoon: Rye bread sandwich with smoothie/cold milk custard
• Friday : Morning: Crusts/crispbread - Lunch: Home-baked rye bread with homemade cold cuts - e.g., egg salad, fig, meatballs and hummus with vegetables - Afternoon: Rye bread with cod roe salad and fruit

You will have sole responsibility in the kitchen, but that does not mean you will be without colleagues. In total Bastion has 12 stable and competent colleagues, all of whom know that no one is best alone, and that we can only succeed in unity.

We expect that you thrive working independently, while being aware that you are part of a larger work community in Bastionen, where we all share the aim of creating space for our children's well-being, learning and development.

Employment terms

Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation.

The position is a maternity-leave cover for 30 hours per week. Start date as soon as possible.
