Cook with responsibility for canteen management sought for the canteen in Hornslet

Do you want to cook from scratch using seasonal ingredients and take responsibility for the daily operation?

We are seeking a professionally strong and engaged cook for our canteen in Hornslet. You will be part of a strong community focused on quality, service and good dining experiences, while you get great influence on the daily operations.

The position gives you significant responsibility, as you in collaboration with the canteen manager must ensure that the canteen is run professionally and in accordance with our five objectives.

Start is as soon as possible.

Your duties

• Preparation of tasty and appealing meals with a focus on seasonal ingredients
• Responsibility for the daily canteen operations in collaboration with the canteen manager
• Responsibility for planning and execution of daily production
• Purchasing and ordering in collaboration with the canteen manager
• Ensure that the canteen is run in accordance with our five objectives:
• Quality – we serve tasty and nutritious food of high quality
• Service – we greet our guests professionally, welcoming and respectfully
• Economy – we run the canteen responsibly and ensure good resource utilization
• Sustainability – we actively work with ecology, food waste and environmental considerations
• Wellbeing – we contribute to a positive working environment and a good collaboration with colleagues, guests and citizens
• Development of new dishes, concepts and ideas for the canteen
• Customer contact and sales in the canteen
• Seasoning, baking, pickling and other food production
• Self-inspection and ensuring high hygiene standards
• Participation in cleaning and order in the kitchen
• Participation in council catering and other events
• Collaboration with citizens in internships or clarification programs who need support and guidance

We are looking for someone who

• Is a trained chef
• Has professional pride and passion for good food
• Can work independently and take responsibility for own tasks
• Has experience with canteen operations or classical kitchen
• Understands purchasing, planning and economics
• Thrives with responsibility and can keep an overview in a busy daily routine
• Contributes positively to collaboration and the good workplace culture
• Has a driver's license
• Speaks and writes Danish
• Has basic IT skills

Working hours

• Monday to Thursday: 06:30 – 14:30
• Friday: 06:30 – 12:00
• One day per week off at 14:00 by arrangement
• Evening shifts may occur in connection with, among other things, council meetings
• Regular workplace is Hornslet
