Coordinator sought for an initiative on sexual health and well-being at Health Promotion and Prevention

Health Promotion and Prevention at Esbjerg Municipality seeks a nurse or midwife for a permanent position as a coordinator in an established initiative concerning sexual health and well-being among young people.

The initiative has been developed in collaboration between Varde Municipality, Esbjerg Municipality, as well as Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospitals, and aims to offer counseling, guidance and concrete health services to young people aged 12-25 years.

The position is primarily an operational role with focus on implementing already established activities and offerings. It is an independent function with defined tasks and close collaboration with municipal youth initiatives as well as gynecologists from Esbjerg and Grindsted Hospital.

Your tasks

The tasks mainly consist of

• Individual conversations with young people about:
• contraception
• sexual health and well-being
• body, gender and sexuality
• Guidance on sexually transmitted infections
• Tests for sexually transmitted infections
• Pregnancy tests
• Assist gynecologist with insertion of long-acting contraception
• Registration, documentation and coordination of care pathways

Activities involving gynecologists take place in Esbjerg. The other activities are offered in both Esbjerg and Varde, and the position therefore includes fixed work days at both locations.

We expect that you

• Are trained as a nurse or midwife
• Preferably have experience with or interest in sexual health
• Can work in a structured and independent manner within the defined framework
• Have good communication skills when meeting with young people
• Can collaborate with different professional groups and partners
• Have a respectful and professional approach to the target group
• Hold a driving license
