Creative educator/workshop assistant wanted for the Blue House at Sølager Workshops

• Are you a trained pedagogue? Or do you have other relevant creative and pedagogical experience.
• Can you ”small-talk” to the music from Kandis while threading an embroidery needle, and crack the code on a crochet pattern?
• Do you understand how to create meaningful work, together with the citizens at the workshop?
• Can you create a safe, caring and recognizable everyday life, where the person is at the center, and where handcraft is the central element of the creativity?
• Do you have control over material selection, form and colors? Can you operate a sewing machine and upcycle reused materials in a creative work process, together with our citizens in our sheltered employment?

Then it’s YOU we need.

As a resident at the workshop, I need

• That you have experience within the special education field, so you can understand my needs and help me in a way that makes sense to me. I need you to have both professional and personal competencies to take responsibility for and run the creative workshop of which I am a part.
• That you stand strong in your professional expertise and can create a daily life where I feel safe, seen and met with care. I need structures that give me opportunities for development and content in my day – in a way that starts from my needs.
• That you can work independently and at the same time follow the year’s rhythm and the joint agreements at Sølager. It gives me calm and predictability when I can feel that you are stable and keep what you say.
• That you contribute to a good working environment, where there is respect, humor and room for everyone. I thrive best when I can feel that the staff around me cooperate and get along.
• That you can plan and work in a structured way so I know what will happen, and that you document my progress in a way that helps me move forward.
• That you have knowledge and experience with citizens like me who have a reduced physical or mental function – perhaps also psychiatric challenges. It means a lot to me that you understand why I react the way I do, and that you can support me in a safe and professional manner.

About you

• You are passionate about working with the target group and can create a meaningful daily life for the staff, with job satisfaction and a high work ethic.
• You must be able to create and see tasks that make sense and are recognizable for the Blue House staff (citizens).
• You are open, reflective and clear in communication with staff (the citizens), relatives, colleagues and external partners. You meet our staff (citizens) at eye level, with respect for the individual.
• You contribute with positivity and curiosity to task solving, even when daily life changes.

About us

Sølager Workshop consists of six sheltered workshops located in scenic surroundings close to Hundested. We are part of the Center for Residential Care and Employment in Halsnæs Municipality.

Our target group is citizens with reduced physical and mental functional ability under the Danish Service Act §103. For the Blue House there are 7 citizens attached, but there is room for more.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms are set in accordance with the applicable collective agreement for workshop staff 44.01. In addition, qualification and function supplements can be agreed. The expected total salary is in the range 33,800 – 39,000 DKK per month excluding pension (37 hours per week), depending on experience and competencies. The pension currently is 17%.

The position is 37 hours weekly and starting January 1, 2027. We expect to hold interviews Monday and Tuesday in week 48.

Employment requires that you have a driving license. An extended criminal record check and references will be obtained.
