The Cyber Division seeks a Section Chief for the System Department in Hvidovre

About us

The Cyber Division's System Department consists of six sections, one of which is the joint IT systems of the armed forces.

We are in the entire System Department approximately 80 dedicated and specialized colleagues, as well as a number of consultants.

The staff in the System Department are both civilian and military, which provides a good dynamic and sparring in solving tasks.

In the System Department we are responsible for ensuring a streamlined and efficient development as well as management of the group's IT systems.

The Cyber Division is part of the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization and we are one of the country's largest IT organizations. We are responsible for ensuring communication and IT for the Defence's employees, whether they are onboard ships in the North Atlantic, on missions in the Baltics or working at barracks and offices across the realm. We are responsible for procurement, development, operation and management of the Defence's IT systems.

We work closely with both internal and external actors to ensure that the systems meet the requirements for supporting business processes while adhering to the highest security requirements.

About the position

As head of joint IT systems, you will have overall responsibility for leading and developing the section and ensuring the strategic management, development and governance of the section's IT system portfolio. You will directly manage four element leaders and a number of IT managers who in daily practice handle the close dialogue with the business about deliveries and ongoing IT support.

In the role as section head and Capacity Center Manager you will carry out the following central tasks:

• Capacity and system responsibility: Assume overall responsibility for the section's total IT capacity (applications and IT systems) and ensure a balance between operations, governance and further development.
• Economics and resource management: Lead the section's total budgeting, financial management and resource allocation, so that tasks and projects are always staffed optimally.
• Security, compliance and risk: Ensure that the systems comply with applicable security standards, legal requirements and military directives. This includes implementing security measures and conducting risk assessments for operational operations.
• Stakeholder and supplier management: Ensure close and constructive collaboration with internal and external parties – including business areas, the Ministry of Defence and external suppliers.
• Prioritization and cross-functional cooperation: Set a clear direction for the section's tasks across security, operations and development and facilitate strong collaboration across the organization’s departments and sections.
• Personnel management: Promote employees' professional and personal development through close, purposeful and trust-based leadership.

• Thorough knowledge of governance methods and the ability to translate overarching strategies into concrete operational execution.
• Excellent communication skills with a view to adapting messages to both technical specialists, top management and external actors.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of or experience from the Defence's IT infrastructure and operational conditions and insight into accreditation, IT readiness, cybersecurity and GDPR.

Employment terms

If you are an academic, you are hired in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

If you have an office education or another relevant education you are hired according to the applicable Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organization – The State Sector (OAO-S joint agreement) and the agreement for office clerks, laboratory staff and IT employees.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is a possibility for negotiation of allowances. There is a employer-financed pension scheme attached to the position.

The workplace is in Hvidovre.

As an employee under the Ministry of Defence's area you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be able to obtain security clearance and maintain the security clearance during the entire employment period.

As an employee you have a duty to perform service outside of the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations.

About the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization

The Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) is an agency under the Ministry of Defence. DALO is responsible for the overall defense and emergency materiel, IT and cybersecurity. It is us who procure, operate and dispose of materiel and IT for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Arctic Command, Special Operations Command, Home Guard, the Danish Emergency Management Agency and the rest of the Ministry of Defence's group.
