About the job

Would you like to be part of an ambitious school where strong communities, high academic standards, and wellbeing go hand in hand? Then maybe you are exactly the person we are looking for.

We are seeking a qualified Danish- and English-language teacher with strong relationship skills and a flair for the humanities for our 4th year group. The position is expected to commence on 1 December 2026 and is, in principle, full-time. The timetable this school year consists of Danish, English, music, physical education and visual arts, as well as co-teaching hours for the year group.

A glimpse into our school

Maglegårdsskolen is a school with great ambitions – both in terms of academic standards, wellbeing and formation. We want to give the children the best possible start to their school life, where they experience being met with presence, engagement and high expectations. We work purposefully to create safe surroundings where children can grow academically, socially and personally.

Our pedagogical practice is characterized by curiosity, systemic thinking and a strong belief in the community as a fundamental foundation. We see it as our task to prepare the students to navigate a complex and changing world – not only when they leave school, but also in everyday life here and now. Therefore we prioritize relationship work, creativity and reflection in our approach to teaching, collaboration and school life.

Who are you? - We imagine that you

  • have a solid academic foundation and dare to set demands on students, parents, your team and yourself,
  • meet the children at eye level and understand that relationships and classroom management go hand in hand,
  • thrive in professional collaboration where you both give and receive sparring,
  • are skilled at creating participation opportunities for all children,
  • are curious, reflective and open to feedback,
  • use play as a natural part of teaching,
  • have an eye for the individual child’s needs and possibilities – and believe that all children have potential,
  • actively contribute to a good working environment and collaboration with colleagues, management and parents.

What you get with us

With us you will become part of a dedicated and well-functioning year-group team. We are proud of our work with Maglebarnet, and we take care to ensure that everything we do is based on this. The children at Maglegårdsskolen say they enjoy going to school, and we feel this every day.

In the school plan for this school year we have several exciting focus areas that we hope you can see yourself in:

  • We will strengthen professional teamwork and set the framework for our mentoring culture even more,
  • We kickstart the initiative around the Compassion System Framework, which is an important part of Magleånden,
  • We will focus on how we can become even better at supporting all students’ participation in the large learning community
  • We have a solid mentoring system and a culture characterized by trust and flexibility

We have strong wellbeing work in collaboration with both parents and educators – and an ambitious focus on the development of co-teaching. We benefit from good physical facilities, lovely outdoor areas and green surroundings – and we have a school board that actively engages in the school's direction and values.

With us you will become part of a dedicated and well-functioning year-group team, where we, among other things, focus on community, cross-year collaboration and a daily morning gathering.

Employment and start

The position is expected to be filled on 1 December 2026. In Gentofte Municipality there is a strong focus on giving both new graduates and experienced teachers a good start. Therefore you are offered a mentor and, as a new graduate, you will have reduced teaching hours in the first two years. There is close cooperation between schools, the administration and the Gentofte Municipal Teachers’ Association, and we continuously work on professional development and knowledge sharing.

Application deadline is 20 November.

Interviews will be held in Week 48, 2026.

Upon hiring, we will obtain a criminal record check for children and a police certificate.
