About the job
Do you want to help build the data platform of the future in the utilities sector?
At Hillerød Forsyning we are in the process of building a modern data platform based on FDAP (ForsyningsDataAnalysePlatformen). The goal is to make data from our many systems, sensors and data sources available so they can be used for analytics, automation and better decisions across the utility. The data platform should support both daily operations and the development of future data products.
We are now seeking a data engineer who wants to be involved in further developing the foundation on this journey.
About the position
As a data engineer you will become part of the IT/OT team, where you will play a central role in collecting, integrating and preparing data from the utility's many systems.
You will primarily work with the integration layer in the data platform and with ensuring stable, automated data flows from source systems to our data platform.
The position offers the opportunity to work with both classic IT systems, databases, cloud technology and data from our technical facilities. At the same time you will become part of a professional environment where collaboration, knowledge sharing and development are a natural part of everyday life.
You will work closely with colleagues who are already involved in the development of the data platform, and you will have the opportunity for ongoing professional sparring in working with both integrations, data flows and the ongoing development of the platform.
Your main tasks
- Establish and maintain integrations to business systems, SharePoint, databases, OT/SCADA systems and external data sources.
- Develop and maintain data ingestions in Azure Data Factory.
- Work with Azure Storage, databases, SQL and API integrations.
- Debug and optimize existing data flows and integrations.
- Document solutions and contribute to standardization of the data platform.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, IT colleagues and external partners.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of our data platform and integration architecture.
You will become part of the FDAP network
An important part of the role is participation in the FDAP network, where utilities collaborate on the development of a common open source data platform. You will be part of a strong professional community where experiences, integrations and solutions are shared across the industry.
About you
We imagine that you have a relevant education in IT, software development, data or engineering.
Perhaps you have a couple of years of experience with integrations, databases or system development and are ready to take the next step in your career.
We place greater emphasis on your technical understanding, curiosity and desire to learn than on a specific number of years of experience.
You thrive when working according to common standards and design principles and see the value in documentation, automation and solutions that others can build on.
You focus on creating robust and maintainable solutions and understand that the right solution is not always the fastest.
Additionally, we would like you to
- Have an interest in data, integrations and automation.
- Have experience with SQL and databases.
- Have worked with APIs or system integrations.
- Work in a structured way and take responsibility for your tasks.
- Want to document and create solutions that others can build on.
- Thrive in collaboration and knowledge sharing.
It is advantageous if you have experience with
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure SQL
- Databricks
- Git and version control
- CI/CD
- Data Lakes
- Python or PowerShell
- OT-, SCADA- or IoT data
We offer
An exciting job with meaning in an organization that solves societally important tasks and contributes to the green transition and to handing over a sustainable Hillerød to the next generation.
You will become part of a dedicated IT/OT team, where we combine high professionalism with an informal tone. We help each other in everyday life, share knowledge across disciplines and lift tasks together. There is room for both professional discussions, good humor and a helping hand when needed.
At the same time you will have the opportunity to help build a data platform from a relatively early stage and make your mark on the solutions that will support Hillerød Forsyning for many years to come.
We offer among other things
- Great opportunity for professional development.
- Collaboration with leading utilities through the FDAP network.
- Flexibility and the possibility of 1 remote work day per week by agreement.
- Permanent full-time employment of 37 hours per week.
- Health insurance, lunch arrangement and active staff association.
