Your role

As Lead Data Engineer you will be a central part of the data and digitalization team. In your role you will contribute to the architecture, quality and development of the data platform (Microsoft Fabric), while you work with complex data flows and modern cloud technologies. You will play a key role in translating business needs into technical solutions, and you will be a sparring partner for colleagues, management and partners.

Your focus areas will be

• You take ownership and further develop the data platform based on Microsoft Fabric
• Design robust, scalable and secure data pipelines and data models
• Contribute to data architecture, data strategy and principles for data standards
• You have an important role in collaboration and coordination of BI tasks toward the business and their BI leads
• Support DevOps principles, CI/CD and automation on the data platform
• You participate in the overall IT architecture team, led by the Head of IT Operations, and work actively on all integration tasks related to the data platform
• You wish to take co-responsibility for documentation of the data platform as well as data strategy and architecture
• Together with IT leadership you are responsible for the backlog of tasks and for coordinating and implementing activities for yourself and the data team
• You participate in exciting and relevant projects, including expansion and optimization of the data platform
• You own and coordinate supplier relationships together with IT leadership
• Participate hands-on in development tasks within data ingestion, transformation, modeling, visualization and integrations
• You will participate in practical tasks related to the data platform and the data backlog as needed
• When necessary, you assist your data team colleagues with activities related to data modeling and visualization

About you

You have an in-depth technical background complemented by solid analytical abilities and experience bringing this into play within digitalization and IT development in larger organizations. You can quickly understand and navigate complex data flows, domains and business areas, and you work in a structured and methodical way with design and development of integrations and data models as well as data insights and data quality.

We imagine that you have

• Several years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer or similar role
• Deep experience with Microsoft Fabric or related modern data platforms
• Experience with Azure-based data and integration solutions, such as Data Lake, Databricks, Azure Databases and Azure Functions/Integration Services
• Strong competencies in SQL, Python and data modeling
• Experience with Power BI (and DAX) as well as data models that support decision-making through visualization
• The ability to quickly learn new technologies, tools and languages
• Fluent Danish and English – both spoken and written
• Several years of experience as a consultant or in a role with similar responsibility, where you thrive on taking ownership and at the same time joining a team with a shared collaboration culture
• Familiarity with Azure Purview, Azure Synapse or similar services
• Fluent Danish and English, spoken and written
