About the job

Are you an IT support technician by training and would like to start training as a Data Technician? Then kickstart your career in an ambitious and meaningful environment

Are you technically curious, motivated by creating value for others, and ready to take responsibility for delivering professional support to students and staff at SDU? Then you might be the Data Technician apprentice we’re looking for.

SDU IT plays a central role in the university’s digital infrastructure and development. We support research, education, administration and knowledge collaboration through operations, support and strategic digitalisation.

We strive at SDU IT to make use of the resources we already have in a smarter and more efficient way, while also exploring new opportunities and solutions. We want to act proactively and take initiative before challenges grow large, and finally it is important for us to deliver with high speed, but not at the expense of wellbeing or quality.

As an apprentice in Lab IT in Odense you will be an important part of the daily IT support delivery to more technical and specialized solutions, primarily aimed at SDU’s researchers and teachers. You will contribute to ensuring that SDU’s staff and students have access to well-functioning and secure technology – and that more specialized research needs are supported in a professional manner.

In your application we would like to read that you

  • Are outgoing, service-minded and thrive in collaboration with others
  • Are keen to learn and ready for new challenges
  • Are full of energy and eager to do your best to give staff and students good service
  • Are technically curious and eager to learn new things
  • Work in a structured manner and have a sense of order
  • Can follow procedures and convey technical knowledge clearly and understandably
  • Are well-spoken and can support in Danish and English – both verbally and in writing (our primary language is Danish)

We offer a workplace with

  • A strong professional environment, good social relations and a daily life with humor and room to breathe
  • A varied and educational everyday life with tasks within support, infrastructure and security
  • Tasks with preparation and installation of clients and smaller servers, troubleshooting and remediation of IT equipment, advice and setup of special IT solutions for use in research
  • Possibility to develop both your technical skills and your communication abilities
  • A workplace community where wellbeing, humor and professional development go hand in hand

It is a requirement for the position that you have completed IT support education and have started or are about to start the data technician education at a vocational school.

At SDU IT we take your education seriously. We invest in your learning and development, and we prepare you for a future as a competent and value-creating IT professional.

About us

SDU is a modern and innovative university that offers education and research at a high international level. We focus on creating and communicating new knowledge that shapes the society of the future, and we systematically work on continuously developing capabilities, organisation and solutions that support our strategic goals. You can read more about SDU’s organisation and strategy at www.sdu.dk/da/om-sdu

SDU IT is the focal point for operation and development of IT and digitisation across research, education, knowledge collaboration and administration at SDU. We are a unified unit with over 160 employees distributed across 6 departments and 9 teams.

In line with the rapid digital development there are also changed conditions for being an IT department. In addition to the classic support needs of users, delivery of IT solutions and secure operation, we also have a dedicated focus on process development and user dialogue with a view to e.g. identifying efficiency potentials or insights into smarter use of the digital solutions we implement.

It requires a strong strategic focus, well-developed internal processes and a future-oriented mindset so we can act proactively in relation to the opportunities that digitisation offers. As SDU IT we therefore have a broad focus when we say that we move SDU digitally.

Note: We may have vacant positions at other SDU campuses. You should apply to all the positions you are interested in.
