About the job

We work at Bjergbo because

  • "You form fantastic, rewarding and meaningful relationships with the residents." (Lone, pedagogue)
  • “At Bjergbo there is a safe and professional collaboration between colleagues, we all come in to give the residents the best possible day, and we help and support each other to make it work” (Mathilde, professional coordinator)
  • “We have great freedom with shifts and shift-swaps.” (Line, Occupational Therapist)

In Bjergbo’s four houses, 30 residents with physical and mental functional impairments live. We have 80+ employees at Bjergbo, and while some have 20 years of service, others move on. It opens up doors for new opportunities — perhaps it’s your turn to become part of the Bjergbo community?

We are seeking two employees

PEDAGOGUE FOR HOUSE B

We are looking for the right piece for Bjergbo’s House B – our largest department with 4 staff on duty, for nine residents. Here we are specifically looking for a pedagogue or PAU who will help develop the pedagogical approach:

Residents in House B need you if you can create intimate moments in a changing daily life, can communicate both verbally and non-verbally, can stay calm when e.g. epilepsy acts up, which makes the social life blossom, and can use even the smallest occasion to create fun and revelry.

Staff in House B value a curious colleague who is secure in their own professionalism and who can see the differences in the staff group as an advantage. You will become part of a large group of employees, both younger and more experienced, all with great commitment to their work. House B can offer a work life where your presence makes the difference between a good and a bad day, and you can academically and professionally immerse yourself in your residents’ entire lives.

AND THEN WE ALSO SEEK A “SCHWEISSERKNIFE”

The Swiss Army Knife is Bjergbo’s newest project, which after a year and a half trial period now becomes permanent. A Swiss Army Knife is an extra staff member every day – a gentle overmanagement, one could call it. Every day there is thus someone to cover the first acute illness or a sudden trip to the doctor. The days that are not illness, you should be the cream, the all-round person, extra hands and mind.

In priority order you should: Give colleagues breaks, cover if colleagues need to step away for larger documentation tasks, run activities with the residents, start the Friday bar, clean up/create a sense of abundance here at Bjergbo.

We started the project in July 2025, and you will become the third Swiss Army Knife in a small team of three. You rotate to cover all days from 11:00 to 21:00 – and you work every 3rd weekend. So you have about 3-4 shifts per week depending on your desired working hours. You will be trained in a couple of departments, and from there you can gradually also learn the other departments.

You can have several different educations in your background for this position. Here your personality, your experience, adaptability and your desire to help develop something new will be decisive. For you must think it’s fun to be able to do a bit of everything, to be in several places, not know what you’ll do tomorrow, and you must be able to see the value in being the extra hands who can clean a fridge, hold a hand, go for a walk, give a hug and give high-fives.

FOR BOTH POSITIONS, THE FOLLOWING APPLIES

  • Thorough training in the pedagogical and health-related work in the department. You are offered onboarding, an introduction program and follow-up conversations with your immediate supervisor.
  • Opportunity for development through teaching, courses and sparring. Bjergbo offers courses and continuing education in neuropedagogy, KRAP, etc.
  • We have a meeting planner who always tries to align the meeting plan to support the balance between leisure and work. We work with an eight-week meeting plan with rotating schedules, day and evening shifts - as well as every other weekend.
  • 37 hours – but the possibility to work less by choice - down to 30 hours.

COMPENSATION AND EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

The House B position has rotating schedules (day/evening shifts, no night) and every other weekend.

The Swiss Army Knife position has shifts from 11:00 to 21:00 and every third weekend.

Hiring date is January 1, 2026, or earlier if possible.

Salary is set according to the applicable collective agreement and principles of local pay formation. The specific salary range will be disclosed prior to the interview. A criminal record must be presented before employment.

WANT TO KNOW MORE?

Contact Bjergbo’s leader, Ane Kirk at telephone 24 83 78 94 or assistant tender manager Heidi Kirkegaard at telephone 20 54 27 67.

Application deadline November 16 at 08:00.

Employment interviews are expected to be held November 18, 2026 - so mark an X, we certainly want to talk with you.
