About the job
Do you want to combine your strong social-pedagogical expertise with coordination, responsibility and daily operations? At Hesselagergård we are looking for an experienced, responsible and structured pedagogue/place deputy who will be a central part of our team and function as the leader's closest sparring partner.
We are looking for you who naturally leads in the daily work with the youths. You are a clear, present and action-oriented colleague who can create calm in an unpredictable day, and who can seamlessly take on the leadership role when the leader is not in the house.
About Hesselagergård – Development through relationships and clear frames Hesselagergård is a social-pedagogical children’s and youth home in scenic surroundings in Strib, north of Middelfart. We are part of the umbrella organization Opholdssteder.dk , which ensures us access to strong multidisciplinary sparring and organizational support.
Our children and youths have complex psychosocial challenges, including neglect, trauma and attachment disturbances. Their daily life is often characterized by emotional swings, and they therefore need stable, relationally competent adults who can create security and predictability.
We believe development happens when we as adults take responsibility – even when it is difficult. Our foundation is built on mentalization, relationship pedagogy and Low Arousal. In practice, we implement this through methods such as KAT-kassen and social skills training.
Your role: Pedagogue at heart, leader in daily operations
As a deputy you get an exciting double role. Your base is on the floor, where you participate in the direct pedagogical work on equal footing with your colleagues. You build enduring relationships with the youths and ensure a developmental everyday life.
At the same time you support the leader in daily coordination and operations. You help ensure that the duty roster fits together, that the professional direction is kept on track, and that your colleagues experience clear frames. In the leader's absence (meetings, holidays or illness etc.) you handle the operations and ensure that the house continues to function with overview and stability.
Your concrete areas of responsibility
- Lead in daily pedagogical work: Relationship building, conflict resolution and development-supportive interventions.
- Support the leader with planning, daily operations and organization.
- Participate in duty planning, including coverage for illness and vacation.
- Be a professional sparring partner for your colleagues and ensure a high quality in documentation, action plans and development goals.
- Take on management and operations tasks during the leader's absence.
- Actively contribute to a healthy work culture characterized by clear communication, shared responsibility and strong collaboration.
We expect that you
- Are a trained pedagogue with experience within the placement area, or children & youths.
- Have a strong professional ballast and can connect theory to concrete, daily practice.
- Work in a structured way, have a natural overview and thrive coordinating tasks.
- Are trustworthy and able to build strong relationships with both youths, relatives and colleagues.
- Make professional, well-considered decisions – also in high-pressure situations.
- Are loyal to joint decisions and can carry the leadership's direction into daily life.
- Are willing to join a rolling schedule with changing shifts (24-hour, evening and weekend shifts).
- Have a driver's license.
It is a big plus if you already have experience with coordination or shift planning, but the decisive factor is your personal capacity and your professional weight.
We offer you
- A key position where you combine your passion for the pedagogical craft with operational responsibility and coordination.
- Significant influence on professional practice and the direction of Hesselagergård.
- Close and confidential sparring with the leader.
- An engaged team that prioritizes professionalism, belonging and reflection.
- Fixed frameworks for professional development: Ongoing supervision, professional days and continuing education.
