About the job

On 2 November 2026, SIRI will establish a new Center for Control with the aim of strengthening the oversight to ensure that the rules for residence and work in Denmark are followed. We are in this regard seeking a deputy head who will take a central and cross-cutting role in the new center. The center and the position are new, and you will therefore have good opportunities to help shape both the role and the way we work across the organization.

Welcome to SIRI

At SIRI we process applications for residence and work permits for foreigners from all over the world who want to work or study in Denmark. We ensure EU citizens have easy and fast access to Denmark, advise municipalities on integration and prevention of negative social control, and develop tests in Danish and knowledge about Denmark.

At SIRI, digitalization is an important part of our daily work. We work with new technological possibilities e.g. AI to strengthen effective and safe task execution and create value for citizens, businesses and employees.

You can read more about SIRI and what it is like to work with us here .

You will become part of our new Center for Control

The control work is already today an important part of SIRI’s mandate to ensure that the conditions for residence and work permits are complied with, and to prevent and respond to abuse in this area. The control is carried out in several ways, including register cross-checks, outbound control and generally risk-aware case processing. The control work takes place in close interaction with SIRI’s line of business offices, which process applications for residence and work permits.

Center for Control aims to handle ongoing control and to focus on further developing control work, including new methods and tools for the control.

The center will consist of about 60 employees, two center managers and three deputy heads. Tasks are organized into two professional pillars with their own center manager and deputy head, as well as a cross-cutting function, where you as the office’s third deputy head will have your primary role.

Your role as deputy head with us

You will have a cross-cutting role in the Center for Control and will work closely with both center managers. You will have a special assignment to drive and coordinate tasks that cross the center.

You will have a broad portfolio of tasks, and we are therefore looking for a strong generalist who can see the center as a whole, create an overview and ensure progress. Your tasks will include, among others, to:

  • Drive projects and development tasks in the control area from idea to implementation.
  • Prepare notes, decision proposals and other deliverables – including tasks with a political focus.
  • Drive the development of SIRI’s use of AI tools and other technological solutions in the control work.
  • Develop collaboration and interfaces between SIRI and other authorities and partners.
  • Optimize existing cross-cutting operational tasks and contribute to creating more efficient workflows.
  • Coordinate across the center and ensure that the right employees and professional competences are involved at the right time.
  • Create coherence between data, analyses and technology in close collaboration with SIRI’s other offices – notably Business Development and Economics & Analysis.

The common for the tasks is that you must be able to navigate across, create structure in complex problems and translate ideas and decisions into concrete action.

As deputy head you will become part of SIRI’s leadership forum, where we regularly discuss various leadership-relevant themes. At SIRI we work in a structured way with leadership development and focus on your continued development.

Our expectations of you

You have a relevant academic master's degree and several years of relevant professional experience. You are interested in or have experience with leading. You do not need to have experience from the immigration area, but you must be curious, eager to learn new disciplines and able to understand complex problems.

In addition we place emphasis on you

  • have experience in driving projects and can translate ideas into concrete results
  • can collaborate closely with several leaders and are good at leading upwards
  • are good at creating an overview and keeping direction in tasks that involve different disciplines
  • have a good sense for building relationships and collaboration across the organization
  • communicate clearly and confidently both in writing and orally.

We also place great value on who you are as a person. We would like you to

  • have a high work discipline, professional pride and take responsibility for ensuring that tasks are completed properly and on time.
  • be a good listener and open to others’ perspectives and solutions.
  • meet others with integrity and empathy, say honestly what you think, and be able to give and receive feedback.
  • be loyal to common decisions, but not be afraid to ask questions or state your opinion when you see things differently.

We have an open culture, and we value that we can work seriously and have fun together.

Curious?

If you have any questions about the position, you are very welcome to contact the upcoming center managers, Office Manager Abed Elmoghrabi at 72 14 21 64 or Office Manager Torben Jensen at 72 14 25 21.

Are you our new deputy head?

We look forward to receiving your CV and a motivated application no later than Sunday, 18 October 2026.

We expect to hold interviews in week 43.

Salary and employment terms

You will be employed under the state academic agreement. As a rule, the position will be as a senior or chief consultant depending on your qualifications and experience. There is an opportunity to negotiate allowances that match your qualifications.

For the deputy head position there is an attached pensionable functional allowance. The allowance is paid as long as you hold the deputy head function and ends without further notice if the deputy head function terminates.

The hiring area is the Ministry of Immigration and Integration with its associated agencies, and the workplace is the Agency for International Recruitment and Integration, Carl Jacobsens Vej 39, 2500 Valby.

The position as deputy head is a permanent full-time position with an average of 37 hours per week.

The position commences on 1 December 2026.

It is a condition for the position that you can obtain security clearance for SECRET and that you can maintain the clearance throughout your employment.

Equality in all its aspects is important. Therefore, all interested persons are encouraged to apply regardless of ethnic origin, religion, gender, age and the like. The Ministry of Immigration and Integration is a member of Foreningen Lige Adgang (Equal Access).
