Design Engineer Intern

At Artelia we are looking for you who is studying to become a construction engineer and will undertake an internship in the 6th semester. You should have a flair/interest/curiosity for circular construction. It is a clear advantage if you enjoy digital tools and organizing data, because it will be part of your daily life, enriched with construction sites, fieldwork, and what the engineering/construction profession otherwise offers in the way of generalist tasks.

What you will work with

We work with reuse and recycling of building materials in the real world – not as a pilot project, but as part of the projects that are being built and dismantled right now. Our department combines building physics with circular construction, and we are also developing the methods and tools that the rest of the industry will use.

We are behind the data sheet for resource surveys, which has been developed in collaboration with Circue and is disseminated through Værdibyg as a supporting tool for their guidance on selective demolition. We develop digital aids for field registration, and we participate in the industry collaborations where the rules and guidelines are written.

Your concrete tasks

• Resource mapping and resource screening of buildings – going out into the field, registering building parts and materials and assessing the potential for reuse
• Work with the requirements in BEK496 and translate them into practice in concrete demolition and renovation projects
• Be involved in further developing our digital tools – data sheets, templates and digital tools
• Contribute to guidelines and publications published together with other consultants and industry associations
• In addition, of course also opportunities for construction engineer tasks: condition assessments, building physics conditions, project materials, drawings and descriptions – we tailor according to what you would like to become proficient in. Most importantly is that you get to taste the combination for the construction engineer in a consulting company.
