Development Engineer

Analog and digital circuit design

Product development from idea to production

As our new development engineer you will be part of the development department, where we develop products that contain analog/digital electronics, software, RF design (HF) and mechanics. You will join a close team of 6-7 colleagues with many years of experience, and you will take responsibility for your own circuit design from the first line on paper to the finished product out with the customer.

It is a specialized team, and you will work independently on bounded tasks, but always in close dialogue and collaboration with colleagues within RF, mechanics and software. Your upcoming colleagues are very experienced in other specialist areas, so there are good development opportunities for the right person.

Your responsibilities

There will be good opportunities to shape the role, but you will among other things take responsibility for:

  • Design, schematic and PCB layout of analog/digital circuits as part of a larger system that must coexist with RF electronics and other designs – we use Altium
  • Calculation and design of complex systems
  • Development of new products, typically 3-5 new designs per year, in close collaboration with colleagues in software, mechanics and RF
  • Ensure that your design can be tested and produced, including developing test fixtures/test jigs for your own circuits
  • Participate in the whole process from specification and development to testing, up to the final production
  • Maintenance of existing products, e.g. replacement of obsolete components and subsequent re-testing or redesign
  • Close collaboration with the mechanical designer on 3D drawings and the physical integration of the electronics
  • Document all design work and participate in a fixed review process where you explain and justify your technical choices
  • Ensure that your designs comply with internal and external design rules, including requirements for electrical noise (EMC) and declaration of substances in the components
  • Use and operate measurement equipment
  • Participate in weekly priority meetings as well as project meetings for larger projects
  • Navigate the iterative dialogue with colleagues (“ping-pong” process) to align requirements and reach a final solution
  • Contribute to the company's work on standardising test platforms

We anticipate that you have the following qualifications, competencies and experience.

It is not the education, but the interest in and experience with electronics that is decisive – you will however likely have an educational background as an engineer or other technical background. You can design complex circuits, and you have an interest in analog and digital circuits. Personally you are honest about your own knowledge, good at giving and receiving constructive feedback, and you thrive on working independently on bounded tasks – while also wanting to nerd out on technical details across departments. If you have experience with basic project management, that is an extra plus.

What we offer

We offer a salary package that matches your qualifications, including pension. At least as important, we offer exciting professional challenges and a team that values openness and good cooperation, as well as a culture where we treat each other well. You will have a central role in a smaller, innovative company with 3-5 new design projects per year, a short path from idea to action, and good opportunities for your own professional development.
