About the job

Do you want to help set the agenda in a city where business, politics and major decisions constantly knock on the door?

Fredericia Dagblad is looking for a digital business journalist who wants to be close to the city, close to the readers and close to the stories that matter.

We are looking for a journalist who loves local news. Someone who can move quickly when something happens. Who finds the stories themselves. Who dares to ask critical questions of those in power – and who can also tell constructively about the people, the businesses and the communities that drive Fredericia forward.

Fredericia is a city with intensity. Here there is a harbor in development, prominent companies, a strong industrial history and, at the same time, ambitious cultural institutions, social contrasts and lots of people with something at stake.

That is good material. Every day. That is why one of the newspaper's journalists won the JFM major journalism prize this year.

Now we are strengthening Fredericia Dagblad with a digital business journalist.

As a business reporter you will be close to the companies, the harbor, the shops, the entrepreneurs, the jobs and the economic forces that shape Fredericia. You should be able to write both quickly, sharply and humanely about business – from large investments to the local shop that fights for customers.

We are looking for you who

  • are a journalist – and passionate about the craft.
  • love local journalism that is read, shared and discussed.
  • can work quickly without sloppy.
  • find your own news and do not wait for stories to land in your inbox.
  • thrive digitally and want to use AI, video, live blogs, newsletters and data as natural tools in journalism.
  • think in angles, headlines and readers' needs from the start.
  • want to be part of an editorial team where we both spar, challenge and help each other.
  • want to be present in the local community you cover.

Who are we?

Fredericia Dagblad is the city's local media. We cover Fredericia closely, critically and with heart, with the newsroom located in the middle of the town.

We believe in local journalism with impact. The kind of journalism that keeps an eye on power, explains development, gets close to people and gives readers insight into the society they themselves are part of.

In the newsroom we work digitally, ambitiously and at a fast pace. We develop the stories together, spar over angles and headlines and prioritize hard so that our journalism reaches the readers while it remains important.

You will become part of JFM, one of Denmark's largest privately owned media houses, where local journalism is the core – and where we invest massively in digital development.
