About the job
Would you like to help secure and develop the examination system for the basic aircraft mechanic training and type-specific post-training courses in the Defence? Then the Defence Maintenance Service needs you.
About us
The Maintenance Department Air consists of about 600 permanent staff and about 100 trainees. The Maintenance Department Air includes the Defence's Flight Technical Training Squadron in Karup, two aircraft workshops in Karup and Nørresundby, and a staff in Brabrand.
We carry out basic flight-technical training, all type courses for helicopters and the T-17, as well as other flight-technical courses and trainings. Together we have a portfolio of more than 70 different courses and completed more than 165 courses during 2025.
All training must meet the civilian and military educational requirements within the aviation industry from EASA, DKMAR, MATINS and similar, depending on the technical need and level. The Aircraft Mechanics School is approved by the Civil Aviation Authority and the corresponding competent authority within military aviation FMI Technical Airworthiness Authority to offer and conduct aviation-related education (Part-147 and DKMAR-147).
We currently offer CAT A and CAT B1.1/B1.3 basic trainings and type courses on EH-101, Seahawk, AS-550 Fennec and T17.
We are a training squadron with 40 permanent staff. We take pride in educating and developing our trainees. We ensure that our trainings are up-to-date, as well as at a high professional and pedagogical level. We have an informal tone with room for humor and personality.
About the position
As our new colleague at the Aircraft Mechanics School you will play a central role in ensuring a smooth execution of examinations and evaluations by contributing to the administrative processing of the exams.
In your daily work you will be responsible for DKMAR examinations on the helicopter and T-17 type trainings. The core task of the position is to ensure examination compliance with the quality system in relation to legislation and the Defence's internal DKMAR regulations. You will have close collaboration with our EASA Examination Manager, and help ensure and manage the school's overall examination system.
You will need to share your time between securing documentation, development, DKMAR, and to a lesser extent teaching. As part of this, you will instruct our new vocational teachers in how our examination system works and prepare them for the role as teachers. Additionally you will teach the school's students how to approach exams at the school.
You will have flexible working hours, employer-funded pension scheme and your lunch break is part of the working day, so you can balance private life as well.
About you
We expect you to be trained CAT B aircraft mechanic with PART-66 Aircraft Maintenance License (AML) from the Danish Transport Authority or equivalent Military Aircraft Maintenance License (MAML) from FMI Technical Airworthiness Authority (TAA), and thereby have knowledge and experience from Part 145 / DKMAR 145 or 147/66 organizations.
To be qualified for the position you must have experience in the aviation industry and you must be able to obtain form 4 approvals for the Civil Aviation Authority and Technical Airworthiness Authority.
We expect you to be flexible, approachable and have good communication and collaboration skills. In addition, you should have strong organizational skills and be detail-oriented.
We would like you to have experience with aviation administration and/or supervisory work, preferably from training or similar institutions and thereby be familiar with IT tools and administrative systems.
If you have relevant educational background and competencies but lack experience, we will help you get started in a proper way. Professional sparring is a fixed part of the culture.
Employment terms
Please note that this position is advertised both militarily and civilly.
The employment is in accordance with the currently applicable agreement between the Ministry of Taxation, the Agency for Personnel and Competence and the Danish Collective Organization of Teachers regarding Defence's civilian vocational teachers.
Depending on your qualifications and competences, there is an option for negotiation of allowances. The position carries an employer-funded pension scheme.
The workplace is in Karup.
As an employee within the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special conditions. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.
As an employee you are obliged to perform service outside the country's borders, including at units in international operations with the aim of participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace-enforcing, humanitarian and other similar operations.
