About the boy

In Roskilde lives a happy, humorous and intelligent 10-year-old boy together with his family. The boy has autism and a cognitive disability. The boy speaks few words in English, Danish and Arabic, but he understands a lot. He communicates using signs and single words.

In demanding situations and when frustrated, the boy can become very angry. He is not outwardly aggressive, but needs adult support in these situations to manage these feelings. He needs fixed routines and does not like changes.

The boy is very interested in robots and loves to play and collect them. Likewise, he enjoys swimming and using his iPad.

About the task

The position is up to 2-4 hours per week. The family wishes that you come, for example, on weekends one week and on a weekday the next week. The help will take place in the family's home or outdoors nearby. When you are there, you can for example help the boy practice cycling, go for a walk together, play with his robots or go to a Legoland. The boy often manages toilet visits himself, but may need support. Your task is to support him in social contexts and create a calm and manageable structure around the things you do together

About you

You are present and caring and can create joy-filled company that meets the boy where he is in his development

You are playful, active and can create some fun and cozy moments

You can create predictable and structured frameworks, and support him in social- as well as demanding-situations

You may be a trained pedagogue or have another relevant education. This is not a requirement. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of individuals with a diagnosis.
