About the job

Experienced civil servant (administrative officer) or senior consultant sought for the development of strategic cooperation between the Defence and industry as well as the establishment of robust supply security for the Defence.

About the position

The security policy situation places new demands on supply security, production capacity and collaboration between authorities and industry. Therefore the Danish Ministry of Defence’s Agency for Defence Acquisition and Procurement (FMI) is strengthening its efforts to develop the Danish defence industrial base.

FMI is looking for an engaged and analytically strong employee who will help develop and strengthen the Danish defence industrial base at a time when supply security, industrial capacity and strategic partnerships are crucial for Denmark's and NATO's defence capability.

You will play a central role in mapping and developing Danish industry and their supply chains and in creating stronger links between FMI and strategically selected manufacturers. You will be part of an area that works at the intersection of strategy, business development, supply security and material acquisitions. The work ranges from analyses and market dialogues to the development and implementation of concrete collaboration projects with companies, industry and cluster organisations as well as international partners.

The position can be filled with either an experienced civil servant (administrative officer) or a senior consultant depending on qualifications and experience.

Your tasks

As a staff member in the team you may among other things work with

· Mapping and analysis of Danish suppliers and sub-suppliers relevant to the Defence's materiel and capacity areas.

· Identification of critical supply chains and industrial key capacities.

· Preparation of decision proposals, analyses and strategic recommendations to management.

· Planning and conducting market dialogues with companies and industry associations.

· Establishment and development of strategic collaborations between FMI and the industry.

· Project management or participation in cross-cutting development projects.

· Collaboration with other state authorities, the Armed Forces, industry and international partners.

Who are you

You have a relevant social science, business, technical or other academic education.

Additionally we imagine that you

· Have experience with analytical work, project management or strategic development.

· Have an interest in defence, security and industry policy issues.

· Can translate complex issues into concrete recommendations and solutions.

· Thrive with many stakeholders and can build relationships across organisations.

· Work in a structured and independent manner.

· Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

· Value being part of a diverse team with different competencies.

· Have a driving licence, as meetings are held across the country.

If you are applying as a senior consultant, we also expect that you have several years of relevant experience and can drive larger tasks and projects independently.

Experience from the defence area is an advantage but not a requirement.

Why you should choose us

At FMI you will become part of a professionally strong environment where you will have the opportunity to work on tasks of great importance for Denmark's security and defence capability.

We offer among other things

· Great professional freedom and responsibility.

· Opportunity to influence an area in rapid development.

· Close cooperation with decision-makers, the rest of the Defence, other public authorities and industry.

· Competence development and good career opportunities.

· An engaged and informal work environment with a focus on collaboration and results.

· Flexible working conditions and the possibility of home office by agreement.

· A team with strong social cohesion.

Employee testimony

“In the Office for Defence Industrial Mobilisation we work directly to strengthen the supply security in the Defence. We do this by building and establishing production capacity in Denmark, through strategic and international cooperation and industrial collaboration. The work is not only incredibly exciting and professionally developing, but you also feel the seriousness and importance of the tasks. Here we actually make a decisive difference for combat power in a historically uncertain time. And we do it together and with high spirits.”

  • Line, senior consultant

As an employee under the Defence Ministry's area you are subject to certain special conditions. You must, among other things, be security cleared to secret and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment.
