Attractive position as churchwarden

Since one of our skilled churchwardens has been admitted to higher education, we are seeking an active and engaged employee for a permanent position as churchwarden at Sct. Peders Church, Randers. We would like the position filled on February 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position is 22 hours.

We are a very active church with many different activities during the week in addition to services and ecclesiastical rites, including baby hymn singing, choir, Tuesday cafe, Creative Monday, Café Kaffekoppen, etc. You will become a very important part in getting all the practical things to run. You will have a great influence on your own daily life, and the most important for us is that you have an eye for the tasks so that the practical things function.

Since we have many activities – and therefore many people in the rooms during the week – cleaning will occupy a large part of your working time. In addition to the church, we have two parish houses, Nr. 47 and Sct. Peders House.

We have two churchwardens, one at 29 hours, and you at 22 hours. We also have many volunteers who help, so it is important that you have good teamwork skills.

It is important that you have good collaboration skills, but you must also be able to work independently. You must be willing to clean, and it is important that you can see which tasks should be prioritized – especially when it is busy.

You must be approachable, service-minded and responsible, and be both a jack-of-all-trades and the church’s face to the many different people who come to the church.

It is important that you have an understanding of church life and of the Danish Church's significance and role in the local community.

At Sct. Peders Church there are 2 priests, 2 organists, 2 sextons, 2 churchwardens and 2 church- and culture staff. You will become part of a highly engaged staff group, where people help each other, and where loyalty and responsibility are core values.

Your main tasks will be

• Cleaning in both the church, Nr. 47 and Sct. Peders House
• Shopping and preparation for meetings and other events
• Tidying up and dishwashing
• Church service duty and ecclesiastical ceremonies
• Maintenance of outdoor areas to a lesser extent

In addition, other incidental churchwarden tasks may occur.

The appointment is made by Sct. Peders Parish Council located at Fabersvej 41, 8900 Randers C.

The appointment is covered by the Central Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees' Organization (OAO-S) and The Organizational Agreement for church functionaries with core duties as churchwarden or sexton concluded between the Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs and the Danish Churchwarden Association and the accompanying protocol for churchwardens. Current civil servant churchwardens have the right to maintain their civil servant status upon appointment with direct transition. In such a case, a classification of the position must be performed

It is a condition that the mandatory 5 weeks education for churchwardens is completed within 2 years after the start of employment, if you are not already trained as a churchwarden.

The annual salary is agreed within the range of 324,667.02 DKK – 408,841.08 DKK (current prices).

There is a readiness allowance for the position. The readiness allowance amounts to 33,230.62 DKK per year (current prices).

OK allowance of 1,400.52 DKK (current prices) per year.

An agreement on placement in the salary range is concluded between the parish council and the Danish Churchwarden Association.

Salary, OK allowance as well as readiness allowance are prorated according to the position's appointment fraction.
