Do you want to write stories about people, communities and solutions in the green transition – and help inspire others to get involved?

Location: Aarhus. Application deadline: Ongoing.

VedvarendeEnergi is seeking new volunteer writers for our newsletter VE-post. VE-post is published every two weeks and read by around 2000 climate and environmental enthusiasts. Here we share stories about the green transition in practice – from local communities and energy solutions to global perspectives on climate justice.

We are looking for someone who wants to convey good stories about the green transition and help make complex topics understandable, inspiring and relevant for our readers.

What do we write about?

Our articles primarily focus on three themes

• Mobilizing civil society – how people and communities drive the green transition
• Global responsibility – why the climate crisis also requires international solutions and solidarity
• Green transition in practice – e.g., in areas such as responsible consumption and energy supply

As a writer with us you will

• write 6–10 articles per year (approx. 2400–5000 characters)
• be a sparring partner for another writer in the editorial group
• participate in an editorial meeting every 4 weeks at VedvarendeEnergi's secretariat in Aarhus

We plan tasks well in advance so you can adapt the work to your calendar – and we of course take into account busy periods, exams and holidays.

We are looking for someone who

• can write journalistic or explanatory articles
• is good at written communication and has an eye for detail
• can work independently and in a structured way
• is interested in climate and the green transition
• would like to work with positive and constructive communication
• lives in Aarhus or its surroundings (as editorial meetings take place in Aarhus C)
• can dedicate about 12 hours per month

Typically, during a month you will write one article plus conduct research and interviews. In addition, you will provide feedback on a co-writer's article and participate in the editorial meeting.

To ensure continuity in the editorial group, it is important that you can commit for at least 6 months.

We provide a good introduction to the organization and give you guides and templates to make the work easier.

Practical

Editorial meetings are held once a month in the afternoon at VedvarendeEnergi, Klosterport 4F, 1st floor, 8000 Aarhus C.

Between meetings you work from home whenever it suits you, within the agreed deadlines.
