Operations Manager for the Material Yard

Our current operations manager for 12 years is leaving in the spring, so we are already looking for a replacement. We seek a professionally strong and capable people manager for Gray Care, who can ensure efficient operations, high professional quality and a good work environment. As operations manager you will have personnel responsibility, professional leadership responsibility and operations responsibility for the employees in Gray Care.

Your main tasks

You will be responsible for

• leading and distributing the daily work
• planning staffing, tasks, machines and resources
• ensuring that the municipality's service level translates into daily operations
• following up on quality, frequencies and execution
• prioritizing tasks based on risk, traffic safety and consequences
• handling acute and critical operational conditions
• ensuring professional instruction and development of employees
• creating the framework for a good working environment and well-being, both for your own staff and for the entire Materials Yard
• coordinating with other professional areas and external contractors
• ensuring efficient use of financial and material resources.

Gray Care includes among other things roads, asphalt, sidewalks, cycle paths, road markings, road signs, drainage, sweeping, cleaning, urban furniture, structures and handling graffiti, vandalism and acute traffic safety issues. We seek you who

• have a relevant professional background within roads, civil engineering, construction, technology or similar
• have experience with operations and maintenance
• are a skilled, empathetic and clear people leader
• can plan and prioritize a complex operation as a professional leader
• are decisive and can act when the situation requires
• work structured and follow up on agreements
• communicate clearly and create clear frames for the employees
• can balance quality, service level, economy and resources
• can navigate a staff group that desires involvement

It is important that you have professional credibility, managerial impact and empathy and can translate requirements and service levels into concrete action.

We offer

A central leadership position in the municipality with responsibility for an important part of the municipality's daily operations.

The position is anchored at Materials Yard, where you will become part of a combined leadership team of three, in addition to you consisting of the operations manager for the green area and the unit manager for the Materials Yard.

You will have the opportunity to influence the organization of Gray Care, develop the operations and achieve results together with the employees.

Salary and terms of employment The position is 37 hours per week. Salary placement is by agreement between the municipality and the negotiating organization.
