Dynamic fisheries and catch consultant in Sisimiut

We are seeking a fisheries and hunting consultant who has knowledge of rules and legislation within the fisheries and hunting sector. You should have knowledge of grant opportunities for fishermen and hunters, and about financing for the purchase of a new boat and equipment. The tasks will be of varied character. Training will take place.

You will, as a fisheries and hunting consultant, among other things have the following tasks:

• Management of living resources in the Sisimiut management area
• Contact with fishermen, hunters, recreational fishers, trophy hunters, fishing organisations and the Self-Government
• Process applications concerning hunting and fishing
• Allocation of quotas
• Advice on grants for the purchase of vessels
• Registration of vessels with the Danish Maritime Authority
• Response to various consultations in collaboration with colleagues
• Development of the fisheries and hunting industry
• Has knowledge of the legislation within the sector
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with the involved parties
• Case submissions to the committee
• Secretary to the Committee for Fisheries and Hunting
• Diverse ad hoc tasks

• Good linguistic and written skills in Danish and Greenlandic

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to free travel and relocation of household effects, are in accordance with the agreements and collective agreements in force between Naalakkersuisut and your negotiating representative organization.

Housing may be provided, with rent, etc. paid according to applicable rules.

The position is administratively located in Sisimiut and organized under the Secretary to the Secretariat in Sisimiut.
