About the job
Are you analytically strong, and would you like to work with data and analyses in the housing sector?
Then you may be our new colleague at the Office for Housing in Copenhagen.
Office for Housing
We are looking for 1-2 economists for the Office for Housing, which broadly deals with all housing conditions in Denmark. We contribute to policy development and new legislation based on statistics, analyses and economic impact assessments. We have a particular focus on the development of the social housing sector, which accounts for 20 percent of the housing market and forms the daily life of 1 million people.
The Office for Housing is located in Copenhagen, where we share domicile and the workday with colleagues in our sister office for Construction. We are a total of about 70 professional employees, of which about 30 are in the Office for Housing, organized into three teams led by a Office Manager and two team leaders.
Your tasks
You will be anchored in either the Housing Economy team or the Housing Data and Area Initiatives team, where you will solve your tasks in collaboration with colleagues in your team, the rest of the office and the ministry department. Your tasks primarily consist of preparing analyses and processing registry data in the housing area, including in relation to the financing of social housing. A substantial part of solving a task is to communicate your results clearly and precisely in writing – and also in speech.
Within several of the office's areas we work strategically to update and further develop the technical support of the office's data and calculation tasks – including in some cases to achieve a higher degree of automation. Depending on your interests and competencies you can also become part of this work.
The tasks typically include
- Prepare analyses based on registry data for the social housing sector
- Prepare calculations, economic analyses and impact assessments of political initiatives in the housing area
- Participate in the further development of the technical support of the office's data- and calculation tasks
- Contribute to the ongoing department- and ministerial support within the office's areas of responsibility, including legislative preparatory work
Your profile
We expect that you have strong quantitative skills and a relevant social science Master’s degree, such as cand.polit, cand.oecon or cand.scient.oecon, but other relevant degrees may also be considered. It is an advantage if you have experience programming in SAS, R or Python or have experience with similar programs and a willingness to learn new things. You may have a few years of experience, but you can also be a recent graduate.
In addition we value that you
- Have experience or interest in working with analyses of large data sets/registry data
- Work analytically, are detail-oriented and quality-conscious
- Can work independently and at the same time enjoy collaborating with skilled colleagues with different professional backgrounds
- Take responsibility, are thorough and follow tasks through to the end
- Can express yourself precisely and understandable in writing and verbally
