About the job

At Randers Regional Hospital, Women and Children, the Maternity Ward, a full-time position as Education Lead Midwife is available for assignment from January 1, 2027.

Would you like to be part of a maternity ward where engagement, innovation, and strong interprofessional collaboration are at the center?

We are seeking a third Education Lead Midwife who, together with the two current Education Lead Midwives, will handle the clinical part of midwifery education, as well as have a close connection to the clinic.

The position entails 18.5 hours/week with education lead duties and 18.5 hours/week with clinical work in the maternity ward.

Who are we?

Gynaecology and Deliveries together with Children and Young People form the Women and Children department. In the department we have an interdisciplinary focus on the families’ journey through pregnancy, birth and postpartum. This requires close daily collaboration across professional groups between the maternity ward, Women and Children and Youth.

The department handles the clinical part of the education for 20 midwifery students each year in close collaboration with UCN in Aalborg. In addition, the department offers educational programs for foreign midwifery students as well as doctors, radiographers and social and healthcare assistants.

The maternity ward handled about 2,200 births in 2025. We have a clinical midwifery supervisor on call. There are 70 midwives and 3 social and healthcare assistants employed in the department, who together carry out a wide range of tasks within the midwifery field. We have midwifery consultations located in our four partner municipalities and we closely collaborate with both health visitors and social workers.

What will you do?

On the basis of the study program, you will plan the clinical part of the midwifery students’ education.

  • You plan and conduct teaching, tests/exams, expectation discussions, mid-term and final interviews, etc.
  • You ensure coordination of the theoretical and clinical parts of the education
  • You are the contact person for the students and their mentors, which means you are in close contact with both parties in daily life
  • You work closely with UCN in Aalborg, where our students come from
  • You keep yourself professionally updated and implement this in your work with the students
  • You are prepared to contribute to implementing the reform of the midwifery education in the coming years
  • You coordinate cross-disciplinary work and contribute to professional development in the department in general

Who are you? You are a midwife and

  • at least 5 years of broad clinical practice experience
  • have or want to obtain relevant pedagogical further education at the master's level
  • have interest in and experience with team and simulation training
  • have interest in the education field – including pedagogy and learning as well as development of learning and teaching methods.
  • are creative, open and curious – preferably with the courage to challenge the boundaries
  • have visions for the specialty and the midwifery profession
  • can work independently and have the ability to prioritize work time and tasks

We offer you

  • a diverse job with a high degree of independence
  • an informal tone and short path from idea to action
  • a skilled and engaged staff group
  • a strong interdisciplinary community
  • a place in an education team with strong experience and knowledge
