Educator for a fixed-term position

Special Education Pedagogue

We are seeking 1 qualified pedagogue for the special education area as of December 1.

The position is a maternity-leave replacement for 37 hours per week.

We are a public school with 4 special classes for ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders). We include some of our students in the general education area and the students will be able to progress to FSA in some subjects, either in the general area or in our own ASD-Class regime, but on general terms.

We have about 55 students distributed across 4 classes from 2nd to 10th grade. This position will predominantly be attached to middle and upper grade students.

Therefore we are looking for a very specific person who

• is robust and has the courage and energy for daily challenges
• must be able to travel to students who are offered home visits due to school refusal
• has special education knowledge and/or education in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders
• has a special education approach aimed at meeting the individual challenges of each student
• can move across the entire ASD department as needed, as we strive to be a large unit for the benefit of the students
• must be able to carry out planned teaching
• works according to our values: Joy, Appreciative approach, Well-being and Responsibility
• has good collaboration skills and is loyal in all relationships
• has patience and understanding that development and change take time and perseverance

We are a well-functioning public school with about 400 students and about 50 engaged teachers/inclusion pedagogues, an active after-school program, an open management and a positive school board/parent group. Nystads School works with the Nest approach.

We have students from 0th grade to 9th grade and the possibility of 10th grade in ASD-Class regime
