About the job

Are you good at creating structure, predictability and presence? Then you have the opportunity to spend time with a 10-year-old girl, where bike rides, playground, cooking and baking are among the activities you can do together.

About the assignment

You will be a regular support for a 10-year-old girl with autism, congenital brain injury and epilepsy. She loves activities where she can use her body – for example a ride on her tricycle, a trip to the playground or baking and cooking together.

Your task will be to create a clear and predictable framework around your time together. The girl needs close guidance and support to maintain an activity, and it is therefore important that you can take initiative, create structure and help her progress in a calm and clear way.

The girl uses, among other things, pictograms and a structure board to create an overview of activities. She can quickly spot something new and head towards what catches her attention. When you are out, you must therefore be attentive and able to keep up physically, as she is not road-safe.

Epilepsy also means that you must be mindful of her energy level. There should be regular breaks during activities, as fatigue can trigger seizures. There may also be a need to administer seizure-suppressing medication.

There is also support and guidance during toilet visits.

About you

You are a trained pedagogist and have experience with children with special needs. It is important that you can create structure and predictability and communicate clearly so the girl knows what is going to happen.

You have experience with epilepsy and are comfortable taking on a task where you need to be attentive to her signals and needs.

As a person you are calm and clear, but also ready to be active.

Working hours

The position is 8 hours per month.

As a starting point, you work 4 hours every other weekend in even weeks, either Saturday or Sunday. Shifts run from late morning, and the exact meeting time is agreed flexibly.

There may be certain months where the hours are instead consolidated into one 8-hour shift on a Saturday or Sunday.

We offer

You will become part of a family-owned company with many dedicated employees. You have a fixed advisor who you can always get sparring from. Outside office hours there is always a staffed on-call phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the National Agreement for handicapped assistance in citizens’ own homes (minus BPA) concluded between FOA and Dansk Erhverv. You are covered by DUOS’ liability and occupational injury insurance and health insurance is part of your pension scheme.
