About the job

Do you want to help create participation opportunities, development, and strong communities for children in an inclusive learning environment, where the interaction between the general education and the special pedagogical approach creates new opportunities for all students?

At Kirstinebjergskolen we are seeking a academically strong and relationship-building pedagogue for the Phoenix Classes at Department Indre Ringvej with a start date of 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

We are looking for a pedagogue who believes that all children do their best and who can translate an affirming and resource-focused approach into clear boundaries, structure, and meaningful communities in practice.

Who are we?

Kirstinebjergskolen is Fredericia’s largest public school with three base divisions from 0nd–6th grade and a common lower-secondary division from 7th–9th grade, where the divisions are located on different sites. Afd. Indre Ringvej is one of the base divisions in the Kirstinebjerg district with about 400 students.

The B-track at Indre Ringvej is also known as the Phoenix classes, which are general classes and at the same time a special pedagogical offering for students referred by Fredericia Municipality’s admissions committee. In the Phoenix classes, the class size is at most 16 students, of which 4 places are targeted at students referred to Phoenix by the admissions committee.

The referred students in Phoenix require a high degree of structure, predictability and increased adult support to participate on equal terms in general learning environments and social communities, and there is systematic scaffolding and social training in both the learning environment and the leisure part.

In the Phoenix classes, KRAP is our shared pedagogical foundation. We work from a resource-focused view of people and use KRAP tools systematically in our work with relationships, learning, well-being and documentation. We believe that all students want to succeed, and that development occurs through recognition and a holistic view of students’ resources, preconditions and development opportunities.

In 2030 Ny Skole is expected to be completed, which means that a completely new school will be built at Indre Ringvej, housing 0–9th grade in addition to two specialized tracks from the current Frederiksodde School.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

  • are a trained pedagogue, academically well-founded and preferably with special education experience
  • are strong in relationship work and curious about the practice you are part of – both in school and in leisure time
  • are present, clear and structured in your pedagogical work
  • work affirmingly, empathetically and are aware of your own strengths, apply them in practice, and bring them into play – both in team contexts and in interaction with the students.
  • possess a positive demeanor in appearance, language and actions in everyday life
  • have insight into work with children who need close guidance and scaffolding to succeed
  • have an eye for the interplay between individual, context and learning– and development environments
  • can maintain an overview in complex situations and at the same time notice small developmental steps
  • see documentation as an important tool in the pedagogical work
  • actively contribute to reflection on own and shared practice
  • thrive in close team collaboration and take responsibility for joint solutions
  • base themselves on the students’ resources and development opportunities
  • want to work systematically with KRAP tools, reflection and documentation
  • see behavior as meaningful communication and an invitation to professional curiosity
  • create predictable and comprehensible frameworks for students’ learning
  • have good collaboration skills and interest in both close and broad collaboration across.

In addition, we hope you meet both students and colleagues with curiosity, energy, warmth and a twinkle in your eye.

What can we offer you?

  • Nothing less than a fantastic school
  • A meaningful job where you make a real difference for students every day
  • A key position in the development of a strong special pedagogical offering in the general environment
  • A well-functioning team with high professionalism and great helpfulness
  • Co-responsibility for students’ learning, well-being and development across the school and leisure parts
  • Opportunity to become part of a school in exciting development
  • Part of a cross-professional team consisting of teachers and pedagogues, who work closely together on students’ overall well-being, learning and development
  • A strong cross-professional collaboration with a shared focus on the core task
  • Close and committed team and year-group collaboration
  • A school that values professionalism and well-being as equal factors
  • Supervision regarding task solving and leadership close at hand.
