Special Daycare Skovbrynet, Department Nygårdsvej, is seeking 1 educator for a permanent position.

Skovbrynet is Aarhus Municipality's special day care offer for children with significant and lasting physical and/or intellectual functional impairments. Skovbrynet has space for 92 children distributed across five departments: Department Skovbo, Department Skovhøj, Department Nygårdsvej, Department Troldhøj and Department Stenhøj.

In Department Nygårdsvej the target group is children with attention and relationship disorders, including autism and ADHD. Through a specially organized special educational approach, the best conditions are created for the children's well-being, development and learning.

We work so that the children have a good childhood life, where they thrive, develop and learn. This involves an individually tailored special educational approach in a sheltered environment – and at the same time a persistent effort to create child communities where all children have the opportunity to participate and succeed. We work with predictability through visualization and structure, e.g. with methods such as TEACCH. We base our work on the community and adapt activities, routines and physical spaces so that more children can participate.

We are looking for an educator with engagement and knowledge of the target group in Department Nygårdsvej and knowledge of the described approach. An educator who wants to be a co-creator of a department characterized by high professionalism, focus on the children's development and a good atmosphere.

You will be part of a team of 4-5 colleagues around a group of 5-6 children. You join a team, but collaborate across the house's groups. As an educator you have co-responsibility for the educational effort and development as well as the working environment.

Working hours are scheduled in the period 06:30-17:00, and there can be opening and closing shifts, just as there are monthly evening meetings.

• You are educated as an educator. Preferably with knowledge of the target group and with experience from the field of special education, but this is not a prerequisite.
• You can, based on knowledge and experience, contribute with special educational tools and strategies.

• You can perform a special educational intervention that is tailored to the individual child's development opportunities.
• You can plan activities and routines so that all children have the opportunity to participate – even when children have very different prerequisites.

• You are clear in your communication, both orally and in writing.

Salary and terms of employment

We hire according to Aarhus Municipality's principles, therefore this is a 37-hour position.

Salary and employment terms are according to the applicable collective agreement between BUPL and Aarhus Municipality.

Start date is 01 January 2027.
