Educator, teaching assistant or teacher sought for a unique home-schooling offer 35 hours/week, Hillerød

Do you want to help create a safe and meaningful everyday life for a 16-year-old boy?

We are seeking an engaged pedagogical staff member for a fixed team around a cheerful 16-year-old boy in Nødebo between Hillerød and Fredensborg.

The position is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday during daytime. The work arrangement is planned as a 2:1 scheme, and you will therefore always work closely with a colleague.

The task is to create a safe, recognizable and meaningful everyday life with a focus on well-being, joy, development and opportunities for learning. It is important that you are eager to get to know the boy well and can base your work on his resources, interests and daily form.

About the boy

The boy is 16 years old and especially enjoys being outdoors. He likes, among other things, making fires, cycling and playing ball.

He has complex physical and cognitive disabilities and therefore needs support and assistance in all everyday activities.

He communicates using sign language, sounds, individual words and pictograms, and is in the process of learning to use his speech computer. It is therefore important that you are curious about his communication and patient enough to give him time and the opportunity to express himself.

Everyday life and your tasks

Together with your colleague you will be an important part of the boy's daily life and help create structure, presence and good development opportunities.

Your tasks will include

• to plan and carry out pedagogical activities based on the boy's interests, resources and needs
• to support play, learning, communication and participation in everyday life
• to participate in activities such as music and singing, fires, ball games and trips on a side-by-side bicycle
• to accompany the boy to the warm-water pool and participate with him in the water
• to assist with meals, personal care and other daily tasks
• to work closely with your colleague, the family and the professionals surrounding the boy.

There is, among others, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, a speech-language pathologist and a music therapist, and you will therefore be part of a multidisciplinary team around the boy's development and well-being.

Working hours

35 hours per week.

Monday 9 - 16

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8 - 15

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with experience in the pedagogical field. You can be trained as a pedagogue, pedagogical assistant, teacher or similar - preferably with experience from the special needs sector.

We place emphasis on you

• meeting the boy with calm, presence and respect and being curious about his way of communicating
• being stable and responsible and can create familiarity and safety in daily life
• taking initiative and can translate the boy's interests into meaningful activities
• thriving in a close collegial collaboration and can coordinate and reflect on the pedagogical effort together with others
• wishing to engage in the effort over a longer period and help create continuity around the boy.

A valid driver's license is required, as you must be able to drive the family's car.
