About the job

Do you have a heart for leisure-time pedagogy, strong relationship skills, and an affirming approach to both children and parent collaboration?

So you might be our new pedagogue colleague at Vesterbro Ny Skole.

We are looking for a trained pedagogue for our KKFO. As a KKFO-pedagogue you will have hours in the after-school care part and in the school, where you together with teachers and pedagogues work to create coherence in the child’s entire day. You will be attached to a year group and will participate in a close collaboration with the year group team, where you bring your leisure-time pedagogical expertise into play and contribute to the children’s well-being, development and sense of community. You will also participate in planning and team meetings at the school.

A big house with many possibilities

With us in KKFO you get a daily life in a big house with many rooms and workshops and thus plenty of opportunities to unfold your ideas within creativity, play and movement. We offer activities across ages and campuses, so you get ample opportunity to bring your skills into play in a broad collaboration.

We are also professionally proud of our leisure-time pedagogical project work. Across workshops we plan and implement larger projects, where children experience that their ideas and interests can have meaning beyond KKFO’s framework. We are happy to collaborate with the local community, because we believe that children develop when they experience that they can contribute to the communities they are part of.

About us

Børnebyen Vesterbro consists of two campuses Uno and Bryggergården, which work closely together. At each campus there are about 200 children, and in total the KKFO consists of about 35 employees and 410 children.

We have a strong work community characterized by high well-being, professionalism and cooperation. At the same time we are part of an exciting five-year collaboration with Louise Klinge, where, based on her research, we work to create a school- and leisure-time pedagogy that more strongly takes into account the needs of children and adults. As part of our team you will be active in this development work and have the opportunity to acquire new knowledge as well as contribute to shaping our shared dream for Vesterbro Ny Skole.

The children expect you to be

  • a fun adult who tells good and funny stories
  • someone who wants to play with us outside
  • someone who can come up with fun games.

The children’s voices are important to us

Child involvement is a central part of our pedagogical practice in KKFO. We strive to create a daily life where children not only are heard but also experience that their ideas, perspectives and interests have real significance. We believe that children develop both ownership, responsibility and the feeling of belonging when they get the opportunity to influence their own everyday life. Therefore we actively work to involve children’s voices in the development of our activities, projects and communities.

We expect that you

  • are a pedagogy graduate or are ready to graduate by January 2026
  • can initiate play, activities and projects in KKFO
  • see collaboration as a natural part of everyday life
  • meet children with a resource-oriented mindset and focus on their potential
  • see parents as an important resource in the collaboration
  • are initiative-taking, independent and can drive projects
  • thrive in a lively and sometimes busy daily life
  • see the value in the collaboration between school and KKFO
  • prioritize high professionalism and reflection in your practice.

Employment terms

The position is a permanent 34-hour-per-week role. We wish that you can start as soon as possible and no later than January 1, 2027. Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement and an agreement in advance between Copenhagen Municipality and LFS (Landsforeningen for socialpædagoger). In connection with the employment we will obtain a child- and criminal-record certificate and take references.
