About the job

A permanent part-time position as an external lecturer in strategic communication and organizational change processes at the Department of Management, Society and Communication (MSC) is available for occupancy as soon as possible. A key task will be to contribute to the quality and continuity of supervision in connection with changes of degree programs within the communications field at CBS.

As an external lecturer you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge to educating young people and give them insight into your practical experience. At CBS, external lecturers are an important supplement to researchers' teaching. The role as an external lecturer also gives you the opportunity to update your theoretical knowledge, discuss with engaged students and become part of an international academic environment.

MSC’s research and teaching relate to the dynamic relationships that exist between business and society and responsible leadership of these. MSC mobilizes broad knowledge within the management field and business as well as the humanities and social sciences. This is organized in three interlinked research environments: CBS Sustainability; Centre for Business and Development Studies; the Communication, Organisation and Governance Research Cluster

The position has a particular focus on supervising students in CBS’s communications programs, including bachelor projects and internship reports in HA(kom.) as well as projects and master’s theses in cand.merc.(kom.).

The position includes

  • Supervision of internship reports, interdisciplinary projects, bachelor projects and master’s theses within organizational communication, strategic communication and related fields.
  • Supervision of students working with practice-oriented issues within, among other things, management communication, branding, stakeholder management and organizational change processes.
  • Conducting examinations, including defense of projects and theses.
  • Possible teaching and supervision on other relevant programs, including continuing education and lifelong learning activities.

Qualifications

The qualification requirement is at the master’s level, and employment as an external lecturer requires either:

  • Relevant practical experience at a high level not obtained through a university academic appointment, or
  • Employment in a scientific/academic full-time position at another university (assistant professor/researcher, lecturer/senior researcher or professor).

An external lecturer, who is employed on the basis of their practical experience, must have in-depth and current knowledge of the application possibilities of the field, obtained through employment within the area.

Teaching qualifications also form part of the assessment of applicants.

Your other skills

  • In addition to the relevant master’s degree, emphasis is placed on in-depth professional and practical experience within organizational communication, strategic communication, management communication and organizational change processes, including communications consultancy and stakeholder management. Experience with digital transformation and the importance of new technologies for communication and organizing will be a benefit.
  • You have solid experience with teaching and project supervision at higher education, including preferably supervision of internship placements, bachelor projects and master’s theses. Knowledge of HA(kom.) and cand.merc.(kom.), their academic profiles and project formats will be a particular advantage. You can help students connect academic theories and methods with concrete problems from organizational practice.
  • As a person you have good collaborative skills, can participate in supervision teams and contribute to creating good learning and academic development conditions for students.
  • You master Danish and English, since teaching, supervision and examination take place in both languages.

Job content and qualification requirements are further described in the regulation on the job structure for scientific personnel at universities .

Employment conditions

Salary and employment are in accordance with Agreement on External Lecturers at universities and others under the Ministry of Education and Science . The number of hours is max 500 hours per study year and may vary according to need in the individual semesters. The hourly rate is set twice a year and remuneration is paid on that basis.

In connection with employment as an external lecturer you must complete a pedagogical introductory course in university pedagogy arranged by CBS.

You will be attached to a researcher at the institute who will be your academic contact person. You are expected to participate in scholarly events relevant to the teaching you are responsible for, and you will also become part of the institute’s network of external teachers.
