About the job
Would you like to work with some of the most advanced technology at Region Midtjylland’s hospitals? And do you thrive at the crossroads of technology, clinical work, suppliers, and development?
Then we might have the job for you as a Medical Technology Advisor in the Department of Purchasing & Medical Technology in Region Midtjylland.
You will become part of a strong professional environment of engineers, physicists, and technicians who work with operation, advisory services, procurement, and development of medical-technical equipment at the region’s hospitals.
Your primary area of work will be the region’s more than 30 MR scanners. Here you will play a central role in daily technical operations, fault handling, advice and development, as well as purchasing and implementation of new equipment. You will also have tasks in the CT area.
You do not need to be an MR specialist when you start. The most important thing is that you have a strong technical or scientific understanding, are curious about the technology, and want to develop into a specialist in the field. We will provide thorough training through experienced colleagues, suppliers, and relevant courses.
As a Medical Technology Advisor you will have a varied everyday life, where you come close to the advanced technology and to the clinicians who use it.
You will become an important collaboration partner for the hospital’s clinical departments and also serve as a link between the clinic, suppliers, and your medical-technical colleagues.
Your responsibilities include
- technical operations advisory and 1st-line service on MR and CT scanners
- troubleshooting and fault rectification in close collaboration with suppliers and the clinic
- requisitioning and follow-up on external service
- optimization and development of the MR area in collaboration with clinical and technical specialists
- installation and implementation of new MR and CT equipment at the region’s hospitals
- advice on replacements, upgrades, and service agreements
- technical and clinical guidance on the use and implementation of existing and new MR technology
- participation in procurements and tenders for new equipment
- teaching and knowledge sharing
You will work with both concrete operational issues and longer-term projects. Some days are about finding a solution to an acute technical problem, while other days are about planning the installation of new apparatus or how best to implement new technology.
Qualifications
You are educated as an engineer, physicist, or have another relevant technical or scientific education.
If you have experience with MR, CT or other imaging equipment, that is naturally an advantage, but not a requirement. We are also interested in you who have the right professional background and motivation to learn the area.
It is an advantage if you
- have a good technical understanding and an interest in complex technical systems
- have strong IT skills in both hardware and software
- have experience with medical technology, medical imaging, or working in a hospital environment
- can grasp complex problem statements and translate your knowledge into practical solutions
- work in a structured way and can maintain an overview of several simultaneous tasks and projects.
As a person, you are curious and proactive. You want to develop a high level of specialist knowledge and take responsibility for following tasks and issues through to completion.
At the same time, collaboration is an important part of the job. You must be able to communicate with many different professional groups – from clinical staff and medical technologists to physicists, engineers, and suppliers. It requires you to be able to present technical issues in a way that makes sense to the person you are speaking with.
We offer
We offer a varied position with many collaboration interfaces both externally at Region Midtjylland’s hospitals and internally in Purchasing & Medical Technology. You will have your own areas of work but will also be part of a team of colleagues who complement each other with overlapping tasks.
You will have good opportunities to be challenged and develop both professionally and personally in an exciting and informal medical-technical environment, where there is a focus on humor, well-being, and an open tone among dedicated colleagues.
Whether you have little or a lot of experience, we offer thorough training through colleagues and course activities.
Flexibility is highly valued at our workplace, which is why there is a flexitime scheme to make it easier to balance work and leisure.
Salary and terms of employment
The main place of work is the Purchasing & Medical Technology office/workshop at Aarhus University Hospital, Palle Juul-Jensens Boulevard 99, 8200 Aarhus N.

It is a requirement that you have a driving license for a car.
