Environmental case handler with a focus on wastewater, discharges and the water environment

Do you want to use your environmental expertise to protect the water environment and create durable solutions for wastewater and discharges on Lolland?

At Lolland Forsyning you will play a central role in the work with discharge applications and assessment of environmentally hazardous and polluting substances from treatment plants and overflows. You work at the intersection of legislation, data and practical utility operations and will have a wide contact surface to colleagues, advisers and authorities.

Your tasks

As an environmental case handler you will become an important professional resource in the wastewater sector. You will be responsible for translating environmental requirements and professional assessments into concrete applications and solutions.

You will among other things

• draft and submit discharge applications for treatment plants and overflow structures
• conduct environmental risk assessments and calculations of environmentally hazardous and polluting substances in the wastewater
• collaborate with operations, project and plant teams as well as municipalities, environmental authorities and advisers
• keep up with developments in relevant legislation, guidelines and standards, including the Environmental Protection Agency's guidelines for environmentally hazardous substances
• contribute to structure, quality and learning in the department's regulatory work

The tasks are primarily related to wastewater, environmental conditions and discharge permits, but you may also be involved in other authorities' tasks in the utility sector.

Who are you?

You have a relevant higher education, for example as an engineer, biologist, environmental consultant or similar. Experience from the industry, a utility company or a consulting engineering firm is an advantage.

You have solid knowledge of the wastewater sector and the legislation on discharges to the water environment and can analyze data on environmentally hazardous substances in treatment plants and overflows. You also understand the connection between legislation, technical conditions, environmental considerations and practical operation.

You work in a structured and analytical way, can translate complex environmental rules into concrete and durable applications and communicate clearly and professionally in Danish.
