Environmental Worker for Water Quality and Operations Support

Would you like to help ensure good and safe drinking water for our customers? We are looking for an environmental technician who can combine practical analytical tasks with planning, documentation and close collaboration with colleagues, authorities and laboratories.

About the department

Water Quality and Operations Support work to ensure that DIN Forsyning delivers drinking water that complies with current quality requirements. We work according to ISO 22000 and have close contact with

Water Production, which extracts, treats and distributes drinking water.

The department plans and follows the legally required sampling plan, takes samples in the field and follows up on results from external laboratories. We also conduct operation analyses and have contact with authorities and customers if analyses show exceedances.

DIN Forsyning supplies drinking water to Ribe, Bramming, Esbjerg, Varde and Kvong. We also distribute drinking water in Nr. Nebel and Lunde, which is purchased from Klinting Waterworks.

Your primary tasks

You will become part of Water Quality and Operations Support and will among other things be responsible for:

• Prepare sampling plans according to current regulations
• Be contact person to external laboratories, e.g. when changing sample packages, new sampling locations and price inquiries.
• Check and invoice laboratory invoices, including follow-up on deliveries.
• Tender laboratory services in collaboration with the procurement department, including preparing requirements specification and tender lists.
• Follow up on exceedances and be in dialogue with authorities and customers
• Take mandatory drinking water samples and follow up on analysis results
• Plan and control water treatment and drinking water quality
• Conduct operation analyses and small pilot tests together with Water Production
• Validate analysis and operational data.

A central task is planning sampling at all our 10 waterworks, approx. 65 bores, as well as in our pipeline network and at selected consumers. We take about 600 drinking water samples each year.

You will be trained to be an accredited sampler in accordance with ISO 17025 and to a lesser extent may take drinking water and process samples.

Your professional background

We imagine that you

• Are educated as an environmental technician, laboratory technician or have another relevant education
• Have knowledge of analysis methods and laboratory work
• Have experience with administrative tasks – sampling planning, documentation and quality assurance – and work safely in Microsoft Office
• Preferably have knowledge of drinking water quality, water treatment and relevant legislation
• Are able to assess and quality assure analysis and operational data and follow up on deviations
• Hold a Category B driving license.
